Guest guest
Dear Anandjotji, Ear Hygiene I think Kirtan Kriya or sa da ga... (the scales) would help. Also, there is a simple physical technique an MD can perform. · You place a few (just a few) drops of almond oil in your ears before bed. · The next day at doctor's office, MD douches out your ear canal. · The compressed wax in the ear canal that impedes sound will be washed out. The difference is nothing short of night and day. Note: Not all MDs will do this simple procedure, so make sure he/she will before booking your appointment. The Chinese store has a little ear cleaning instrument that looks like a little spoon. There is another one that looks like a honey dipper; it is okay, but not as smooth to operate. It is less effectual and hard to clean. This precious little device is like a tongue cleaner for the middle ear! It is excellent for cleaning waxy secretions along the canal wall. Go slowly & gently. Your tympanum (sensitive ear bone) is at the other end of the canal. It is very sensitive and easily punctured. Satnam. Guest guest
Sat Nam Anandjot Singh, There is a process for cleaning the ears known as Ear Candling. It removes wax and impurities. It is easy to do; however you will need assistance. It is an ancient technology. Most health food stores carry the candles and you can go online to find out how to do it. If you cannot, let me know and I’ll be happy to explain it. Sat Nam, Samantha/Ardas K
Guest guest
Sat Nam I would be careful of using ear candling. It can make a situation worse. My wife had a problem last year of too much moisture in the middle ear and we tried it. It did not help because she needed antibiotics. She went to an Ear, nose, throat doc. He said some patients got worse using candling. Ayurvedically, this makes sense since it can be drying and is contraindicated for vata. I would think it would be okay for kapha imbalances like excess ear drainage. If it is just too much wax in the ear, I would suggest using either glycerin or warm oil in the ear overnight or for a few hours. Then get a pan of warm water mixed half with hydrogen peroxide and irrigate with an ear syringe. Guru Bandhu > > There is a process for cleaning the ears known as Ear Candling.
