Guest guest
Sat Nam, Are there any kriyas that re-set the internal hunger clock so that one gets hungry and gets hungry during the day and not at 2am? Are there any kriyas that can change the tongue, as in get rid of a bad taste in the mouth? Is there a kriya that can heal the tongue which may have not recovered from being burnt? Thanking your for any help, Sat Avtar Kaur
Guest guest
Addictions like eating or over eating problems can be caused if we are out of our body ie. our Astral casual , etc etc bodies are not in line within us. During you meditation consciously ask all your bodies to realign within you Ask God to allow all the bodies to be realigned within you in the correct sequence. Then reinforce this daily Reinforce this when you feel the hunger fangs in the monring at 2 am Slowly this will correct any imbalances within you being out of body or being grounded. The burnt tongue can you roll your tongue Amarjit Singh
Guest guest
For bad taste & burned tongue, how about Sitali pranayam? Daily practice is said to turn that bad taste (from release of toxins/metals through the tongue) to a sweet taste. Since it is a cooling breath, maybe it would soothe and heal a burned tongue. Hope this is helpful! Jagatjeet

Are there any kriyas that can change the tongue, as in get rid of a bad taste in the mouth? Is there a kriya that can heal the tongue which may have not recovered from being burnt? I don't know about any kriyas specifically for this purpose, BUT. . . Shitali pranayam: for the inhale, curl the tongue (so the sides of the tongue curve upwards) and slightly stick it out of the mouth and inhale through it; then exhale through the nose. this is a very cooling breath. Inappropriate hunger is a sign of stomach heat. This pranayam, as well as being cooling in general, is specifically noted to liberate the yogi from hunger and thirst. According to YB, 26 rounds (breaths) in morning and at night will make you youthful! And the cooling effect should also ease the injury of a burnt (too much heat) tongue. A good mudra to practice with this (although you can also use other mudras) is to spread the fingers and press the finger pads together in front of the heart, with moderate, equal pressure in the fingers. Some people cannot curl their tongue - for those who cannot, just stick your tongue out of the mouth slightly and inhale through the passage between the tongue and top teeth. Another note about shitali pranayam: somewhere Yogi Bhajan said that in the beginning there will be a bitter taste in the tongue, but after a while of practice, the taste becomes sweet. There you go! Another variation of this pranayam which I LOVE - same as above, but inhale in 8 bursts, with the mantra RA MA DA SA SA SAY SO HUNG, one seed syllable for each burst, then exhale with 8 bursts and the mantra as well. Get comfortable with the simple version above as well. By adding this mantra, though, I think it could enhance the aspect of healing the burned tongue. Some other things I can suggest - bow pose and rocking bow in particular are supposed to help balance the blood sugar. And I read somewhere that the yogi that masters camel pose will never suffer from hunger or thirst (!) You could try those as a warm-up for the pranayam above. Also - make sure you eat enough during the day. If nighttime eating is a constant pattern, just eat something in the late afternoon, even if you're not particularly hungry. It might help balance the blood sugar til it's time for bed. . . one more thing I thought of - this is a meditation to overcome cravings - may or may not be appropriate in your case - say WHA HAY GURU, reall opening the mouth wide for WHA, widening into a big, open mouth smile on HAY, and pursing and protruding the lips on GURU. This sort of simulates the jaw movements of chewing. Really exaggerate the motioin. Even 3 minutes of this is supposed to ease cravings. I haven't reall tried it though. Good Luck! The book " Food for health and healing " describes parsley and flea-wort seeds (psyllium) as good for bad breath: can it help you?
