Guest guest
Greetings Yogis, A friendly reminder that you are invited to come to India in February to improve your ability to create your own peace. This Level 2 course is a brilliantly designed guided tour of the essential concepts and practices to achieve the goal of yoga: " Yoga is control of the mind's thoughts. Only then do we sense our SELF. Otherwise we think we ARE whatever we are thinking. " Patanjali, sutras 2, 3, 4. The trip will be about $3500, or $4500 with meditative tour (yatra). So that is a consideration, but the experience is priceless. See details at www.yogicadventures.com. and join us if you can. " These times " are causing a lot of stress. I want to encourage us all to continue our training to remain calmly above it. It is easiest to commiserate, to react, to relent to the fears of others. But we are playing a bigger game. In our culture we are not even humans having a spiritual experience, we are consumers…units which consume stuff. So if the flow of stuff is disturbed, it is understandably upsetting. If a person is " spiritual " , meaning their focus is even partly on things that cannot be taken away like peace, spirit, love, grace, god, the ups and downs of the flow of goods will not be as disturbing. Further, Yogi Bhajan, through these teachings, has been building our grit to handle challenge – to eat it for breakfast – and remain smiling. So please lean on your practice and go deeper into yourself, resist the enticement of other's fears. Simply said, let's Keep Up our spirit and radiate confidence for others to absorb. Back to India, the village where Yogiji built his house and retreat center is what I consider a " pre-consumer " culture. People there have needs and lacks like anyone else, but there is a peace through connectedness to what really matters like family, land, the daily rhythm of life. That environment gives as much peace as all the meditation we will do. It changes your normal perspective and refreshes in a deep way. So if you have the means come for the experience.
