Guest guest
Service with a smile! Good call. Great points. Inspirational. Last night we were watching a YogiJi video lecture in Teacher Training, and YB asked a simple question after we had meditated. " How many times of you meditate on yourself as a yogi? " Camera pans out... Not one raised hand. " Show how many times you have meditated on yourself as a pure human being? " ... In our class, or the video class, no one raised a hand. I think the message was that sometimes our culture forgets the most simple and basic things, and those practicing Yoga can get caught up in a type of Maya of self-absorption without self-service... We need to have the simple Einstein-like revelation that some of the best ways to effect change are the simplest, right-in-front-of-our-eyes, service without self-serving. Like simply charging some base price per class is pretty brilliant. Probably not as realistic in New York City, but hey, there's always the option of giving out free Yoga in Central Park... or perhaps even taking it to the subway commuters... I wonder how that would stir people up. In my mind, it might go a little something like this: " Good morning everyone, this is a Public Service announcement! This is not a hold up. This is a hold yourself up... Plant your feet on the floor and sit up straight in your seat. You don't need to hold on... Let go of your neurosis, because it's gonna be a smooth ride!... " Have a fantastic week everyone, and share, serve and smile! Sat Nam, Filip > i never read the alarmist prediction (don't worry, be happy) but the response i liked best and try to live up to is SERVE, SERVE, SERVE.
