Guest guest
I've been reading the book Yoga Philosophy of Patanjali by Swami Hariharananda Aranya; and in doing so, have been familiarizing myself with the jargon & terminology of Yoga & Buddhism. Samadhi on nothingness has brought me to the depths of third person identity; which over time has become beingness or " self " . Kabbalists are content to philosophize about the pros & cons of mental conceptions & the facets of the existance. These are merely samskaras the Hermetic tradition has failed to transcend. Identity with or samadhi on otherworldly [heavenly] conception leads one to think in third person, and behave without taking responsibility for actions or karma. To believe the origin of divine inspiration is beyond self, is false. Passing the buck onto an imaginary conception as diety invalidates one's existence in unity [yoga]; THIS is the flaw of Thelema. Instead of being the entirety of our potential, a thelemite conceives duality of self [hadit] & not-self [nuit]; thereby suggesting that to travel within the body of not-self [space] our journey is our purpose. Unity is presence & not omnipresence. Unity is self & not concentration of not-self for the enjoyment of not-being. Faith is unreasonable; there is no THAT to project a belief onto, there is only self to experience first hand. Within this context & frame of reference, being & nothingness are identical, void/empty. However, being in the positive sense, is merely a transcendence of abstracts, & not the negation of existence. Being, & Self, & Satori are identical. Buddha Self [bodhi Satori] lacks conception or the tendency toward conception of abstracts. True Buddhism, & celebrants of Buddha pay homage to the awakened psyche, free of the fetters of abstract projection. Nichren Shoshu, for example, worships the Daigohonzon, as its focal icon in reverence to liberated Self, embodied by Guru. The icon being the embodiment of Self, perpetuates only itself with the words of celebration: Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo. As the body of Buddha & the Dharma are identical. Soul-Trek.com & the method of practice there presented, has brought me to the realization or gnosis of Self. The Method of Gnosis: The first phase of initiation, & the Microcosmic rite [based on the thelemite star ruby] unites the acolyte with what is known to western occultists as the Holy Guardian Angel, a projection of the pentagram, Nuit within the current of the Greek conception of the psyche; the four winds; known to traditional eastern yogis as Ishvara. The second phase of initiation, & the Macrocosmic rite [based on the thelemite star sapphire] liberates the individual from the bonds of ignorance, by initiating a permanent state of samadhi; With which the feminine vehicle experiences a deep tranquil state of bliss. With samadhi, comes the rising of the kundalini to the Crown Chakra; & the acolyte's gradual detatchment of the fetters of the abyss which compartmentalize & conceal light with the samskaras of Maya. The third phase of initiation, & the Celestial rite [based on the attributions of the enochian tabula recensa to the zodiac & corresponding winds of the psyche based on the John Dee's Round House Vision]; liberates the acolyte from knowledge, & unity upon conception, to a progressively deeper state of samadhi upon nothingness. Ultimately culminating in silence psychologically, when expression & projection of abstracts cease; & the articulation of sound waves within the psyche, draw the mind into stasis. The inertia of sound vibrations, becoming the harmonic resonance of will, uniting the acolyte in unison with the cosmos. bodhishvara
Guest guest
Sat Nam, Thank you for your interesting words. I also have explored the Western Mystery Tradition and have contemplated similar limitations and exhaltations about the wisdom of this amongst other traditions. THe concept of Self-No Self has been a bugaboo as well. I think in our words things do become mere abstractions and we worship concepts missing out on the experience which is the phenomena of the self. I am not sure about your analysis of the limitations of thelema. To me, they got it wrong because they miss out on LOVE as being the motivating factor behind all, and also in the concept of Surrender to a Higher Will or Purpose. Anwyay, I appreicate your attempts to blend the dharma with yoga and magick. Ra-Hoor-Khuit would be the concentration of kundalini-shakti. Hadit would be the psyche/pentagram which has entered into samadhi/yoga on Nuit [the object of devotion]. And the projection/prayer of Hoor-Paar-Krati would be equivalent to Nuit [via concentration]. All together it is an expression of Bhakti Yoga. Liber AL II:8 "Who worshipped Heru-pa-Kraath have worshipped me; ill, for I am the worshipper." The Hieroglyph reads: 'Fire Like Re Forever' with [TIKA] within the cartouche [signifying the egyptian 'nomen' or Holy Name], & 'Like Re Forever' outside, identifying the Acolyte's body of light [egyptian 'Ka' principle] with the Body of God [egyptian 'Akh' principle].
