Guest guest
Sat Nam everyone, Is anyone aware of any alternatives to using a sheepskin for my KY practice? I love the extra cushioning and warmth of the sheepskin, but I personally have a hard time practicing on a skin, for ethical reasons. I read the previous posts on this forum about this issue but haven't read if it was really alright to practice on a sheepskin, hence why I'm looking for an alternative. Thanks! Guest guest
Before I was given a sheepskin as a gift, I used one of those Mexican blankets. Mine seemed to be of natural fibers. Some seem to be polyester. Shop around. I usually folded it in half or fourths and it was plenty cushiony. Plus I could cover my shoulders with it when meditating. another option could be a cotton towel. another option I just used at my friend's studio was a natural mat in the shape of those sticky mats. It was like a prayer rug kindof. a little thicker than a mexican blanket, slightly more rug-like. and had Om symbol on it. I bet Gaiam or someone like that sells them. I also used to see people use what looked like a natural rag throw rug you could use in your bathroom or hall. Just check what fibers they are made from.
