Guest guest
Hello there, the set " Awakening yourself to the ten bodies " is definetely one of my favourites kriyas. Yesterday I was asked by a student, why this set is called so. What in this set opens the doors to the ten bodies and why? I was not able to answer profoundly. I understand that the set is perfect to connect the upper and the lower triangle. I feel the wonderful and direct benefit in my spine. But, does anyone of you know how and in which way this set is so special for the ten bodies? Is there any literature or any quotation about this? Own experience? Thanx for answering and be blessed willem

I think when they make sense it will be a sign I have reached a high level of development. I don't expect that to be soon! Keith.
Guest guest
Moderator..... I sent this a few minutes ago and realized that I wanted to add the last sentence in the main paragraph. Will you please ignore the first and use this in its place? Many thanks! Joan Sat Nam Willem, The only manual I have now with this kriya is the Aquarian Teacher training manual which does not go in to the hows and whys. I do not recall if the Owner's Manual for the Human Body had more detail or not. You may be able to find some information on line. The exercises don't seem to follow the order of chakras in the body from root to crown or vice versa. I have always wondered which exercise is for which body. It feels like a systematic flow from lower centers to the third eye with Frog Pose circulating the energy throughout my body and aura and beyond. The Laya Yoga meditation opens my crown chakra further building my aura and radiant body. If you allow the kriya to speak for itself, you will not need your own words to be so profound. I have yet to hear a student complain about how they feel after this kriya! Hopefully there will be other more knowledgeable responses to your query. Guest guest
Ah yes! The Ten Bodies. One of the beautiful aspects of Kundalini Yoga. I can give you a few brief hints, and then I have to run, and I'll get back into it a bit more when I have time. There are 9 other bodies than the physical one... The Ten Bodies together comprise our total energetic, emotional, electromagnetic and physical manifestation in life. So here are your hints: If you look into Tantric Numerology, you'll see begin to see that each of the bodies relates to us in a specific way... and they all even have catch phrases that go with them, that begin to indicate how some of them are interrelated. For example: Soul Body (#1) : " Heart over Head " . Each off the bodies are represented by one of the ten (well, 11) Sikh gurus. There is actually an 11th Body, comprised of all of the bodies. And it relates to confidence. The other hint, is that, in a way... there is a loose connection between our Chakras and each of the bodies. Well, that should probably get you asking more question than you had before... rather than giving you any answers... which is pretty much exactly what I aspired to do! Must be the " Devil or Divine " in me!? Truly Yours, Fateh Singh

It had very little to do with the actual asanas and more to do with the pathways they opened up. Guest guest
I agree, this is a great question. Another question is in this case, whether Yogi Bhajan gave this name or it was given by someone else. In the teachers manual the reference is the publication " owners manual for the human body " . If I remember it correctly this set is the only one in the book (owners manual) which does not have a reference date to when this set was originally taught. So maybe someone from KRI could help and clarify when this set was originally taught and whether it had such a name or in which context/lecture it was taught. Many thanks in advance!!
