Guest guest
HI I am new to these groups. I study Siddha Yoga Meditation. So can I join this group? I already did I guess. What is Kundalini Yoga? My Kundalini is definately awakened by a true Guru, Gurumayi Chidvilasananda. And I am seeing if this is how I can post a message for all to check out. I read books on God mysticism. I do not believe one religion has a lock on God and all others go to hell. There is only ONE GOD and HE created all people. catch ya later, God's Love, mark

It may help you to do a little research on Sikhism first, and look into the lives of ten Gurus starting with the life of Guru Nanak. Then read Jap Ji for 40 days. That will give you a really good start and you can come back here with some more questions. -Fateh Singh

Hi Mark & Fateh, Mark, I am sure Yogi Bhajan shared your view on God and taught that Kundalini Yoga is compatible with any religion that is pure. I'm sure I have read phrases like 'Give yourself to God the Universe or Whatever' which to me allow for many perceptions of God and for people like me who do not believe in supernatural entities at all (maybe I am just not sensitive enough to perceive god yet). The Dalai Lama teaches the same thing about Buddhism - he doesn't worship any god - to Buddha what lies behind what we can't perceive or understand is 'emptiness, void, unknown'. Of course you can immerse yourself in sikhism if you want but you can also practice the yoga without practicing the religion or adopting the sikh culture. The yoga is far older than the religion - it has picked up sikh elements along the way. I love the sikh mantra's they have done so much for me but nothing religious. Keith. Guest guest
I wouldn't say that KY picked up Sikh elements along the way. I would rather point out that Sikhism began with Guru Nanak wanting to find a peace and belonging between Hinduism and Islam. Perhaps (since we are told that KY is so much more efficient than other forms of yoga) Guru Nanak adapted that one, so that him and his people could better equipt themselves and be better protected from people out to hurt them. I assume that there are groups that do the same kriyas and meditations we do but are nothing to do with Sikhism. Most Sikhs don't do the yoga. And now there are Yogi Bhajan's Kundalini Yoga Sikhs. These 3 groups peacefully co-exist and hopefully respect each other. I asked a Sikh if Guru Nanak was a Yogi and he said he didn't think so. Interesting eh? > Perhaps (since we are told that KY is so much more efficient than > other forms of yoga)..... I tend to be careful about making such claims. Most people will just not put themselves through the rigours of Kundalini Yoga so it is not efficient for them! For those that are blessed to be crazy, desperate or wise enough to work at K yoga it is indeed fast and powerful but I think there are people who make rapid progress other ways too. Keith.
