Guest guest
Sat Nam Hari Karam Singh, To my knowledge and experience you are correct--having the eyes nine tenths closed serves to ground us. Staring at the nose exerts a reverse pressure to stimulate the Pituitary Gland. It is also easier to focus at the tip of the nose rather than find a nebulous point at the brow. I'd like to hear others knowledge of its benefits. Focusing at the chin connects the conscious mind with the flow of the subconscious mind. In doing K-yoga we work with deep-seated issues and work with the power of the atom. It is no small thing. Never hesitate to do the techniques as the Master taught. The only times he does not specify a certain breath, posture or focus are because his teacher didn't either. Guest guest
I asked Guru Dev Singh about this. He said, (in my own words,) that when you put your eyes at the 3rd eye point you are locking the energy at the crown chakra, when you look at the tip of the nose you are locking the energy at the pituitary gland. I hope I remember this correctly. I'm fairly sure this is how it goes. In any case, follow the instructions in the meditation because the eye position does effect the meditation. Sometimes it's important NOT to close your eyes. Kartar Kaur (Portland Maine)

Sat nam, Ji, It's much easier for me, and for my students, to focus at the brow (Third Eye) than at the tip of the nose. Most of the comments I've heard from other students in classes I've taken are also in line with this. Nice for you if the nose focus is easy! :-) Nirvair Kaur > Loving Blessings, > Guru Prem Kaur > yogagems.com >
Guest guest
As I understand it, looking at the tip of the nose is to control the lower 3 chakras and fixing the gaze at the 3rd eye point is to stimulate the pituitary. I would presume that looking at the chin is to control the emotions since it is a moon center. GuruBandhu Kundalini-Yoga , " Diane Warming " <dwarmin1 wrote: > > I asked Guru Dev Singh about this.
