satnamMy wife brought it to my attention and as I reflected I realized that inhaling forward when your lungs are more expanded, and exhaling backwards when the lungs are more contracted is really the way that I teach it, prefer it myself when not doing very deep breaths with several rotations, and that seems more natural for Kundalini Yoga.
