Guest guest
Sat Nam JI's When I first started practicing Kundalini yoga I got on line and tried to find any helpful information that I could to help me along this path. What I found is that I couldn't find any helpful information to speak of at that time (as I did not know what I was looking for) unless I was willing to fork out some cash. At that time in my life I had no cash and became frustrated in my search. It seemed around every corner I hit a wall that went something like this: This is the path to solve the questions of your destiny and for x amount of money you can get what you need.... That struck me as odd considering it went against the grain of everything I had ever understood about the individual path of salvation. What ever happened to the idea of proving your self worthy to a teacher through devotion and discipline and being graced with the teachings through the lineage of Gurus? Can any one give me there thoughts on this subject of selling out so to speak. So what Ive done to try and provide an opportunity for people to share information that would be helpful for beginners (or anyone) to assist them along this path of self realization. So I went on line and co-created this community for people to share their knowledge and experience and I created the Forum section where I either got permission to post information about kriyas mudras praanayams meditations mantras etc. or posted links to other sites with helpful information that is available for free in various places on line. I basically am working on consolidating as much helpful information as I can In hopes that some wandering soul who is seeking information about kundalini kriyas can find it even if they are living in poverty at this time. I would love to hear your thoughts on this effort. Guest guest
Dear mtsthrin, I agree very much with what you write. I began practicing KY from a book by David Shannahoff Khalsa called 'Kundalini Yoga Meditation' specifically for psychiatric conditions (I suffer severe ocd and clinical depression for which I take medication). I have tried all day today to connect meaningfully with the KY community and attend some yoga classes and sadhana. I have not been that successfull. As you say much of it seems money, money or else people can't wait to get rid of you. So yes I will join your group. I am sorry this mail is put together badly as I am so tired (actually after getting up so early for first time) but I wonder if it is hard for me who has been involved in spiritual fields for most of my adult life how those truly new to yoga etc. would get on? Are there any true friends out there or is it all just egos and selling products? Guest guest
Sat Nam, How could you have missed this website, http://www.kundaliniyogainfocntr.com/ which has been online for over a year, cross-referencing all Kundalini Yoga Information? I have been offering it on this site almost monthly for over a year now. People all over the world are coming in daily, finding what they need. Here you will find the books - what is in them, the mantras, THE FREE CLASSES, the ONLINE CLASESS, listing of Kundalini Yoga Teachers of 25 years or more, how to pronounce the mantras for free, the cd that has all the KY mantras on it, where to find this information, where to purchase it, get your sheepskins and much much more. I have been working on this website since 2007. I opened it for everyone in 2008. Anyways, take a look, I am still adding information in. If there is something missing and I don't have it, tell me and I will put it in. http://www.kundaliniyogainfocntr.com/ Thank you and Blessings to all, Sat Avtar Kaur
Guest guest
Paul, Yes there are many true friends out there and it isn't all egos or all about money. As with any slice of humanity, there are some people who are a little more egoic in the Kundalini Yoga scene. Keep trying to connect. I am from FL and I got into KY near Orlando at the Baba Siri Chand Ashram, which was a very heart-centered place to start, with a great community of students. I live in N FL now and I teach a class Saturday mornings on my property. I am not about the money. And I know I'm not the only teacher like that. some students pay in barter, and it is well known that I have a sliding scale. I just want to share this incredible technology. I have been to many of the Summer and Winter solstice retreats over the years and found many many loving souls there as well. Guest guest
Dear Guru Beant Kaur, I know, I didn't even mean what I said! Really quite stupid of me. What a great way to make a complete fool of myself, on a list of 1000's! I have a strange feeling it wont be the last, but I live and learn I hope at leasr a bit each time. At then end of the day, I have to own all my projections and perceptions as painfully mine. But its good. Thank you and humbly yours in peace, Paul Kundalini-Yoga , " Bridget GuruBeant Kamke " <infinipede wrote: > > Paul, > Yes there are many true friends out there and it isn't all egos or all about money.
