I just read Thomas Moore's new book WRITING IN THE SAND. It presents the

information in the original gospels with out the church/organization- without

the church politics.

Read this passage- it could easily be describing a Kundalini Yoga teacher:

" Firstly, you cultivate a deep respect for people who are not of your circle

and whom society rejects…Secondly, you do everything possible to deal

effectively with demonic urges in yourself and in the society. You do something

about aggression, paranoia, narcissism, greed, jealously, and violence. You live

with a mindset that doesn't justify such things, but seeks alternatives.

Thirdly, you play the role of the healer in every situation.…Finally, you stay

awake and don't fall into the unconsciousness of the age. You also help others

wake up to a thoughtful life imagined in fresh, original, and convivial ways. "

Joan -

This book sounds very interesting. I went to Amazon to try to find it, but it doesn't come out until June 1st. If you know of any other way to obtain it know (you said as of May 1st) - can you please post that information?

Thank you.

Sat Nam Yogini,Has anyone seen/read the book HOLY YOGA. . .written by a born again Christian?Stumbled upon it last night at B & N and was caught between confusion, anger and acceptance. It seems it's her earnest attempt to keep to his yoga practice and keep to his singular belief in Christ.

But this " branch " of yoga ONLY allows for a believe in Christ -- this was explicitly stated in the introduction.I would have to see it again and read it more thoroughly to have a full opinion, but it kinda scared me.

Sat Nam Shivraj and others,

One can check out some of the text

by going to

http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/0446699152/ref=sib_dp_ptu#reader-link

and doing word searches like "Hindu", etc. to get a sense of where the

author is at.

Withholding any judgment or endorsement until a deeper read,
