Hello all,I'm currently working on the Gan Pattee kriya. I have been doing it for just over a week and at first I felt it focused on my mind and kept it relaxed in a way I never felt before but lately when I do it, I am quite resisting to doing it and don't want to and feel agitated. Since I've committed to a discipline, I am doing it. I am assuming that I'm just feeling this way because it's bringing up stuff.

Thoughts?Thanks,Paula

Sat Nam Paula,

Gan Pattee

When you don't know what to do and nothing is working right.

Making the Impossible Possible takes away past and present negativity, smooths

out your day to day problems, helps create a positive tomorrow.

I love this kriya. I get incredible breakthroughs on whatever situation I find

myself in. I ususally get so many insights while doing this, that I have to

stop and write them down. (probably not what one is supposed to do) lol

I also practice Kirtan Kriya and breakthroughs and have the day to day stuff

smoothed out, in fact, in some cases it dissappears out of my awareness so fast,

like it is instantly in the past. I do Kirtan Kriya every day, right before

sleep and during the day when I need it. I don't need Gan Pattee as much

anymore, now that I am doing Kirtan Kriya.

You can read about Kirtan Kriya on my website, it is under Mantras.

A few thoughts...consider reading whatever you can on the two mantra which this

meditation contains....you could also get the yoga/meditation video class where

Yogi Bhajan taught this yoga/meditation: 11-2-88...he taught it with the Angular

Body Energy yoga set (which is in Self Knowledge yoga manual)...he first taught

the yoga and then after the layout they went into this meditation...you get a

certain " feel " for the meditation which doesn't seem to translate into the

written descriptions...and combined with the yoga set...something more...also be

aware that he taught these classes in the morning and only had a certain amount

of time as people had to go to work.

In my opinion I find the meditation was taught to more " hearty " ...consider that

a hugh elaphant rode on a little rat...consider the grace needed to be the

elephant and the strength needed to be the rat.

If you do get the yoga/mediation video class, let me know what you think/feel.

Hello,I was just rereading this post and really I am not sure what you meant by it in response to my initial question. Are you saying that my agitation could mean that I need to do more physical sets? Thanks,

The response was meant to redirect you to the heart center of this meditation

and look at agitation in a different way.

Gan Pattee or Ganapati which is another name for " Ganesh " ...since my name

contains that I didn't want to sound too preachy and know it all :)

Grace and strength manifesting as courage, compassion, and calmness.

After acknowledging your agitation and giving empathy and then a good-bye

party... " realize " (in my opinion) it is like a few mosquitoes buzzing, perhaps

trying to bite you and they don't even have malaria...which would be " fear " .

Do the Angular Body Energy set (not any physical sets) just before you do the

meditation as this is the way it was taught by Yogi Bhajan. I would also

suggest taking longer cold shower; especially as the summer months are here...11

minutes are easily doable and Yogi Bhajan gave certain people 31 minutes...so I

heard but have only tried that once or twice in the summer and the water wasn't

that cold.

Sat Nam,

I don't really remember. You can do them both every day. It doesn't matter.

You don't have to stop doing one to do the other. I usually have a group of

mantras that I am doing. It depends on my situation whether I go for more than

40 days or not. Kirtan Kriya, Gan Patee, Long Sat Nams and So Darshan, these are

life time practices. My perception. Throw in a couple of Prosperity mantras and

you are set. What else is needed. lol

Blessings,

Sat Avtar Kaur
