Guest guest
When my grandfather died, I got a group of friends together at the ashram where I used to live and we chanted akaal together. I felt the energy shift immediately. I also chanted the Guru Guru Wahe Guru, Guru Ram Das Guru chant with them. I find it very soothing. Rituals seem to speak to the subconscious mind. I had a miscarriage earlier this year and I got together with a group of close women friends and we did a little ceremony regarding the miscarriage. After that night, I felt so much better. Guest guest
Two weeks ago my brother died. I accompanied him his last days with ajai alai (Guru Shabad Singh), reciting Jaapji and Jaap Sahib and singing akal his last heartbeats. Now I have to adjust to a life without him. I am used to a regular yoga practice, but right now, I just want a few asanas for stretching like the short Anti Stress Kriya with its four asanas, nothing strenuous. And I need my daily meditations. I started practicing the Aquarian March on Febr 14 and continue with it. I listen to my brothers favourite mantras (he was a ky teacher for more then ten years)like Guru Ram Das (Singh Kaur)and Gobinde Mukande. When I teach my yoga classes (70 students a week) and yoga workshops (two to three a month), I include mudras and simple pranayamas like sitali pranayam . They help me to keep the balance of feeling my emotions, my sadness, but not being overwhelmed by them. Usually I have a quite tight schedule, but these days I allow myself to withdraw from daily routine, to take a nap, to go for long long strolls with my dogs or to call family and friends.
