Guest guest
Sat Nam. Recently there was a post by Shiv Charan Singh vouching for the usefulness of the 8-volume translation of Shabd Guru - the one still used a Akhand Paths at Solstices. The great thing about it, as he mentioned for everyone's information, is that the words and meanings are connected by little numbers so you can usually put the sense of a passage together yourself by referencing the individual words. The only disadvantage to this great labor of love by Manmohan Singh, that took him 12 years to complete, is that sometimes he uses odd vocabulary. Words like " mumper " and " crore " and phrases like " eighteen loads of vegetation " and " archard of poison " come to mind. Some years back,I made a list of 69 challenging words and phrases. It was published with an article in the Sikh Dharma minister's newsletter. I have also made a durable copy available to the Gurdwara Missal at Solstice. If you would like your copy of the article with (1) the original words in Gurmukh script; (2) Manmohan Singh ji's terms; (3) my plain translation of the original words; - just email me and I will be happy to send you it as a pdf document. Blessings abounding... Guru Fatha Singh gurufathasingh http://www.gurufathasingh.com
