Guest guest
Hello,I'm currently working with several kriyas because I have found prosperity has been a difficult issue for me to deal with. I have used a sanskrit prosperity cd that had about 16 mantras and worked with that for about 80 days and at the end of it got a bill from the government but I think it was sort of a sign to be honest when doing your taxes. I also have experience with using a kali mantra (not related to KY) and find using that mantra has been the most dramatic mantra to manifest or make things happen in the material world. I'm doing my 3rd 40day discipline of the subagh and feel at least it is helping with releasing blocks like anger and I am using 2 others. So far nothing has really happened on the physical level and I am hoping my luck turns around soon. I think true prosperity means enjoying the work that you do and that it's not just about making lots of money, although having money coming in is always a good thing. I am still doing my own experimenting but I agree that things have to happen on the physical level. It's not enough to feel good. You have to have good intuitions and follow through and be proactive. I have a few questions regarding wealth/abundance/prosperity - all this seem to be very 'in' these days, because it's something everyone is looking for, and I'm sure you regulary get asked questions about how to get more money etc. But I am curious. Have any you actually been successful when it comes to applying specific wealth mantra's or kriya sets and then actually a big load of $$? I always get told that Kundalini yoga is so amazing and powerful, but quite often I think it's more of a feeling than anything that actually manifests on the physical plane. I often read how amazing people feel etc. but their physical lives (or prosperity) still sucks. How so? Is there an imbalance? And the great question; Are you wealthy as in financially rich? To some extend I do think that money can buy you happiness and freedom (bills are paid, plenty of food, nice place to live, good steady job and no financial worries). I would like to keep this thread very down to earth. I tried to approach my teacher with the same question, but he got lost in outta space and started mumbling in a foreign New Age language which I don't understand. Therefore this thread. So if you want to attract money into your life which specific sets would you suggest? What have your experience been with kriya's, mantra's and gaining wealth? Guest guest
Sat nam Scott and group, It has been a long time since I posted. Guru Rattana makes a great point in her lesson on prosperity. She was saying how she was financially poor although doing hours of meditating a day and Yogi Bhajan being so grateful for her doing all this literary work. (So where is my $$$?) I think she said that if you are not home (grounded, centered, and in your body and doing your souls purpose) the post man cannot bring you the checks. My understanding of this and experience is its not what set you do but the intention you bring to it, the daily practice of it, relaxing into it (your body), and making sure what you are doing is what you soul wants you to do and not what the ego needs to feel comforted. In short my experience has been first to get clarity (with the help of a guru, intuition, counselor, friend, or self if you are clear enough to do this) on your situation (why there is no $$$$), and then engage fully and in a relaxed manner (without fear [check out the mool mantra too], your yoga and meditation practice. Also maybe set some goals: some people find this useful and others not. For me as a self employed workshop presenter and bodyworker I needed to begin to outline a plan for new work and clients so set up some weekly goals that would manifest clients and seminars down the line. A last note: the 80/20 rule in business gives insight into human nature: In any system or organization 20 % of the people do 80 % of the work. Once I realized I was not in the 20% and my work was reflecting this I made some painful behavioral changes to get closer to that 20%: its still happening but I am not afraid of loosing my home anymore. Guest guest
Sat Nam Scott, It's perhaps hard to separate due to how tightly money and success is tied together and ingrained into Western philosophy... but may help to look at prosperity a little differently than being related directly to money. I actually have done a 40 day regimen of prosperity visualizations, affirmations, meditations and mantras, and I did get some really interesting results. I got business calls offering to buy my company out of the blue, as well as some other interesting occurrences. (Did I get rich? No... for numerous reasons - all my own doing... But did I gain some rich experiences? Certainly I did!) You see, when we talk about prosperity in Kundalini Yoga, this is a process more about removing the blocks you have to your own prosperity. It's about opening up to the flow of life, and aligning yourself to think BIG and tune into opportunities. If this leads to actual monetary prosperity, well, that's up to your own hard work and commitment. If you look at the definition of prosperity, it is " the condition having good fortune " . So, prosperity work is the process of conditioning yourself, much like an athlete keeps themselves in shape. But also... what is considered " fortunate " to some may not be money. And in fact, if the saying the money cannot buy you happiness is true, then perhaps money is the last thing you will get (for your own good!) Here's another way to look at prosperity directly from Guru Nanak... http://www.dasvandh.org/meditations/25th-pauri-japji-bahuta-karam And here's a bit of the translation: Line 1: " God's bounties cannot be recorded " - i.e. don't try to measure your prosperity in $$$'s or any other form of accounting Line 6: " Many obtain gifts again and again yet do not admit this " - i.e. count your blessings as your prosperity as your first step, maybe it will change your perspective to see more fortunes around you Lines 8 & 9: " Many suffer pain and are continuously punished. Even these are God's gifts (as a warning to be virtuous) " - i.e. Perhaps the lack of $$$ or misfortunes are a sign for some that they need to listen harder and change their ways. From pain, emerges pleasure. Lines 14 & 15: " God knows everything and gives everything. Only a few acknowledge this. " i.e. - Everything you need is already in front of you, you just need to surrender your desires first to gain everything. So, you see, prosperity is this sense is a lot about giving up your desires, opening up to the flow, and seeing the opportunities and blessings in other ways. Once you open up to this potential, you begin to see prosperity and riches in everything and in every situation. Open up your sensitivities and give yourself up to complete acceptance to " become the King of Kings " (line 17). Yours, Fateh Singh
Guest guest
Couple more ways to open up to the flow... " Wealth " comes from the olde English " wela " , " weal " or " wele " - which also means " well-being " . " Prosperity " can also be defined as " blessings " , " progress " , or even it's close cousin " thrift " ! (something that we may all be experiencing these days... after all, " a penny saved... " )
Guest guest
Sat Nam Scott and all, Yes, we are wealthy, (if that makes you feel better) retired at 35, and let me tell you, wealth never comes to those who sit around and wait. Never. (Well, unless you win the lottery, of course) You have to go and apply yourself, find your true calling and work your butt off. If that's what your wish is, of course. Sitting around and chanting mantras are not going to change a thing unless you actually go and do something about it. What mantras do, is they reprogram your mind and remove obstacles in YOUR OWN mind so you can go and do whatever is that you meant to be doing. They change your magnetic field and the magnetic field around you where it becomes easier for you to find your purpose, meet the right people under the right circumstances and " align the stars for you " . They help you to get tuned in with the signs that God is constantly giving you, help you to interpret those and utilize in a manner that can be productive. But there is no shortcuts, you still have to work. Hard. One more thing, what mantras and meditation do is open your eyes to the incredible abundance of opportunities for making money. World is in great need of change, so if you can look beyond your own needs for personal wealth and recognize what actually needs to be done, money will sure to come. Guest guest
I like what Marty said. This is a great question. I was thinking of posting something similar recently. Kundalini Yoga does make you feel great, or high. But, we still need to be on track as far as using our talents, staying organized, and being responsible and honest re: our financial commitments. I am currently experiencing both financial challenge and also prosperity. My cash flow has slipped, yet my net worth, (after starting KY) has continued to climb. I have read all I can about money, investing, etc...There is a wealth of information on line. For years I resisted writing down what I spend, adding up my totals, comparing it to last year, etc...but since then I have learned that bookeeping has a magical affect on finances. I now own my tiny home on a large piece of land in LA outright. I recently started my own business, using my passion and life's work: teaching Ballet, Hatha Yoga, and Kundalini Yoga. It takes time. If things go according to plan, the business will be valuable down the line. The tax deductions are excellent, and I am working for myself, which suits my temperment. I live very frugally, and always have. I have studied people who have been successful with money, and they don't live like celebrities. They invest in their future. KY can keep you feeling inspired and motivated to set and achieve your goals. The personal changes I've made have been equally as important as the KY, meditation, and mantras. Suze Ormann, Thomas Stanley, and T. Harv Ecker's books have all heled me greatly. KY brings in master energy. My goal is to master money and create a healthy relationship with it. Guest guest
Thanks for the great responses. I have a question, when it comes to mantra's, is it okay if I whisper them out? I have a small baby daughter who sleeps very badly and loud chanting would wake her up.
