Hello all,Since I have been working with the gan pattee, which

is like the kirtan kriya, good for clearing the subconscious. I have

noticed that maybe I will do the GP once a day and not cry or feel much

coming up for maybe 2 or 3 sessions and then I experience a few intense

sessions where anger or tears are released. So I find this process is a

bit cyclical. Is this how clearing the subconscious is in general for

people where there may be what appears to be nothing going on and then

releases come and then it settles down?

Thanks,Paula

Sat Nam,

In my humble opinion, each experience is your own. Ideally, on occasion, you are

practicing some classes with teachers who can guide you more closely and oversee

your progress. Releases like this obviously indicate changes and emotional

openings, and it's natural with this practice, but it won't always be the same,

and overtime they can subside. Naturally, you wouldn't expect the situation to

be the same for every single meditation session you have, as each release leads

to a new experience and level of sensitivity.

Some closer personal mentoring, insight or guidance may help you find your way

through. If you ever get a chance to have a private session with a Senior 3HO

Kundalini Teacher, or ideally Guru Dev Singh, for instance, you may find another

meditation would more closely address the most obvious " issue " you need to

address.

Such mentoring can help guide your growth along a path from the experience of a

wise teacher, instead of perhaps working through many different attempts to

address something you cannot even be sure about if it's the most " efficient "

thing for you to do.

Hi Paula,

Gan Patee is for making the impossible possible. When you don't know what to do

and nothing is working right.

The only similarity they have is the same mantra and touching the fingers tips.

If by 'kirtan' you mean Kirtan Kriya - This is what it means

Kirtan Kriya is one of the most important meditations in Kundalini Yoga. It was

one of the first meditations taught by Yogi Bhajan-The mind goes out of balance

when the pineal gland is dormant. The imbalance makes it seem impossible to

break mental and physical addictions. Whatever you need at the moment, it will

readjust and align you to bring balance into your mind and thus your life. It is

a catalyst for change because it is a very powerful spiritual cleanser. Do you

think about an old lover and want to be liberated from the grips of the past and

release him or her from your aura? This is the meditation! It will reestablish

your aura as your own. The power of this mantra comes from the fact that it

rearranges the subconscious mind at the most elementary level. It has the power

to break habits and addictions because it accesses the level of the mind where

habits are created. This is a silent mediation that involves feeling or energy

movement along the path of the " Golden Cord " .

and I got the information from this page:

Perhaps, you should also take a look at SODARSHAN CHAKRA KRIYA.

This is one of the greatest meditations you can practice. It has considerable

transformational powers. The personal identity is rebuilt, giving the individual

a new perspective on the Self. It retrains the mind. It can purify your past

karma and the subconscious impulses that may block you from fulfilling you.

Further, a recently published medical study showed it to be more effective than

antidepressant medication in treating psychological issues. It gives you a new

start, against all odds. It dates back a few thousand years and is reputed among

all the known Yogas, including Kundalini Yoga, to be the most powerful Pranayama

exercise there is. Sodarshan Chakra Kriya also dramatically improves your

physical well being. It expands your nervous system, respiratory system and

helps your digestive system. It is a boost to the immune system. Overall the

kriya promotes peace, joy and strength. There are several ways to do this one

depending on how long you can hold your breath.

you will find it and the referral pages on the same website

( Guru Tej Kaur asked Yogi Bhajan for a 1000 day meditation, he gave her

Sodarshan and she has now been doing it for 18 years)

Blessings,
