Wheat Berries for Women

I understand that Yogi Bhajan recommended wheat berries once a week to prevent

problems with menapause in later age.

I have been doing this for a while, still, the wheat berries continue to be in

my stool for several days - three to five days. He did also state that any food

that is not digested within 24 hours is not good for you.

I am wondering if anyone has some experience with the weekly wheat berry fast.

Thank you!

Yogi Bhajan recommended chewing Wheat Berries 100 times before

swallowing! This will guarantee that

no full berries come out the other end!

I remember as a child counting to a hundred on Wheat Berry day

(usually Wednesdays in the Ashram).

The idea is chewing until your food was liquid in your mouth,

carbohydrates in particular

need to mix with the saliva in your mouth to start the digestive

process, our stomachs do not have teeth!

I have found that chewing consciously has improved my digestion, I

tend to eat less and

fully enjoy what I eat, aware of each bite.

Enjoy & Blessings,

Simran
