Guest guest
Sat naam yogi and yogini friends! It has been a long time since I posted. I hope this finds everyone healthy, happy, holy, and prosperous! I am seeking the Kriya for Conquering Pain. I had a copy from an old Aquarian Times from years ago, that I cannot find. Anyone have this? I remember it is a meditation done sitting, arms stretched out to sides parallel, a nice mudra, with one palm up and one palm down. Would love the rest of the details so I can practice it! Thank you! Wahe Guru! ranjit
Guest guest
Here it is... " Conquer Pain " Sit in easy pose with your spine straight and your chin in and chest out. Split your fingers so that the Jupiter and Saturn fingers are together and the Sun and Mercury fingers are together. Stretch your arms straight out to the sides, parallel to the ground. There will be a stretch felt in the armpits. The left palm faces downward and the right palm faces upward. Inhale deeply and powerfully through the mouth as if you are drinking the air. Exhale powerfully through the nose. Slow your breathing so that you breathe only three times per minute. Keep your arms straight and your armpits stretched. 11 Minutes. To finish: Inhale deeply through your mouth, hold your breath for 15 seconds, stretch your arms out to the sides, and stretch your spine upward. Exhale through the nose and repeat this sequence two more times. This self-healing process builds your body's capacity to conquer pain. It balances your central nervous system. After three minute the pain will grow and you must be strong to conquer any negativity. There will be a war between you and your mind and you have to win it. This kriya trains your body to fight pain. When your body is trained to fight pain, you can conquer any obstacle. (From page 33 of Self Experience Manual.) Guest guest
Sat Nam, Ranjit Kaur ji - I hope you're able to find the Kriya published in Aquarian Times, that you spoke of. I would like to also offer in a very humble way, to you - and to the pain which you allude to, about which you express a need for this Kriya. What follows is my best attempt to encapsulate a yogic mind approach which was taught by Siri Singh Sahib, Yogi Bhajan, that can be of tremendous help at a level much deeper than the " actional level " of a " Kriya " (the word kriya means " completed action " ). Guru Arjun Dev would not have been able to do a " kriya " as he was sitting in torture, on a red hot plate of iron, for 5 days (and nights). However, at the level of Kundalini, his Mind was always free and open to the Infinite, to Wahe Guru, in such way that he experienced NO SUFFERING at all. Look into your kundalini of experience, directly, in the very deepest intersection you can locate within you between Mind, immediate Sensory experience, and " The Sensation " that is triggering the pain. What you have, at the root, is " A Sensation. " " Pain " is the Mind's response to that sensation. You, as the Yogi within your mind capable of managing your mind, are qualified to point out the Mind (who is willing to believe you unconditionally IF you always speak truthfully to your mind) that " the Mind is having an 'inappriate response' to the Pain. Escort (like a good Sevadar or healer) the secondary sensation of the Pain Response, " out of your mind " and reclaim your experience as the " sensation, but without the pain. " Realize that your own (flexible, variable) " Pain Threshold " is negotiable. AND you can choose AND discover the method whereby yogis in the past have learned to transform the sensation " previously experienced as Pain " to be experienced as a Sensation that produces a response in you as Pleasure instead. This is a very challenging response, I am sure, to suggest that YOU (rather than the Kriya) have this power and capacity within you, for transforming unavoidable pain into an undeniable pleasure. How else could Guru Arjun Dev have sat there in deep meditation in which his constant recitation was, blissfully, " Your Will is sweet, O Lord. " The pain and consequent " suffering " (which is the third level of the Mind's response, ie, " pain is inevitable, suffering is optional " ) can most powerfully be transformed in the Mind itself, without a physical Kriya. Rather than being a curse, a persistent (even chronic) pain can become a blessing, because it forces one to find a solution, which ultimately the only permanent solution to pain and suffering is ENLIGHTENMENT. And here is a powerful motivation for Enlightenment, what a blessings. Like a God holding a gun to our heads and saying " Become a Saint, or else! " That God must really love us to get down with us in such a personally forceful way. Desperate situations call for enlightened, miraculous solutions, as the only way out. What I've described is the phenomenological " Kundalini Pathway " of this option. And please remember, we're NEVER given a task we're not capable of performing. Corollary, any job that we are " not " capable of performing would obviously be, from a divine perspective, " Not Our Job to worry about. " The pain is saying it IS your job, and that you have what it takes within the heritage of Kundalini experience, to accomplish and thrive. These words are hard won truths seeded by my beloved teacher, and as I have practiced them in mastering severe migraine disorder over more that 35 years of (painful) experience. The Kriya may serve its greatest benefit as a way of ingraining into your physical body and psyche, to consistently autonomically enjoy this mental skill I'm describing without having to constantly " do " anything but breathe and feel the Wahe Guru within you. and may you be so Blessed as well- Krishna Singh Khalsa Kundalini-Yoga , " ranjit_dorado " <ranjitk wrote: > > Sat naam yogi and yogini friends! > > It has been a long time since I posted.
