Guest guest
Ditto all that! Thank you Dr. Sham Rang Singh for putting it in such pragmatic terms. And I'd like to add that the full experience of our latent potential (Kundalini) is in not only raising the "energy of spirit" upward through our efforts and practices, but in allowing a downward flow of the energy, also. This is the Nectar, the Ambrosia, the Soma. It is something that one has to "let" and receive, and is not something that one can "get" by our grasping. This is the cooling Moon energy. Allowing the flow of emotions brings us much closer to that door as our hearts open and we relinquish the illusion of control. Our disciplines and practices are the Shakti and/but the full flowering of it all comes through Bhakti, devotion, but in a deeply organic, personal and contained way. As Kirantana pointed out earlier, "All teachings from the East were a little weak in this area". Just being "devoted" doesn't insure that all your meridians will be clear. One really has to Bow Down and really be in their own experiences BUT with a sense of hope. The heart loves to submit. The heart muscle needs this. You can put it all back together later on. I love listening to a little down home Gospel, occasionally, to get things moving. http://church-mouse.com/Bow%20Down%20-%20Full%20Gospel%20Baptist%20Fellowship%20Mass%20Choir.mp3 I love this preacher's way of wording things. Check out..... And if you can see Jesus as simply the most positive and compassionate manifestation of the Kundalini, then you're all set. There's no Problem. Another thought... For years, my practice has been to "scan the system" during my practice of So Darshan, looking for emotional residue (called "ama" in Ayurveda) that might have come up in the previous 24 hours or so. Western psychology says that emotions are stored in the body, like in the case of chest pain in this discussion. Emotions are also stored in our mind in the form of the stories we tell ourselves. The "trick" to releasing this ama, in my experience, is to fully feel the emotion while simultaneously maintaining the mantra and meditation form. The greater I can authentically feel the emotion, while doing the practice, the more effectively it is released into the ethers. Or, more accurately, the energy is converted into its higher form, the spiritual essence from which it came (thus emotion is converted into devotion, as YogiJi taught). This is a very simple, though difficulty practice. The effects are marvelous, though. When physical and mental ama are released, the yogic channels open and energy pours through, healing everything in its path. The difficult part is that the attention tends to collect in areas of physical and mental pain, and especially in the stories we use to justify the existence of this pain. Our egoic self does not want to experience the actual emotional feeling, but prefers to distract into mental chatter about the feeling. If we refuse to actually feel the feeling, then it remains in storage for the future. Thus emotions settle more deeply into subconscious and physical manifestations. When you no longer shy away from uncomfortable physical or mental feelings, and truly explore them with curiosity and a spiritual context, then the whole trip becomes exciting. Bring it on! Show me where the internal pain is so I can experience it and release the suffering. Yee Haa! Though So Darshan is a great place to do this work, it can be done in any spiritual practice, I believe. And the best place to do it is White Tantric. So if some pain shows up during Tantric, it can be a great blessing in timing, and great healing can take place. -Dr. Sham Rang
