Guest guest
I'm the webmaster of the FFKY web site (French Federation of KY : www.kundalini.fr). A person contacted me to know if KY could help him to heal stammering. I thought to propose the practice of Kirtan Kriya. Do you know if it is a good idea ? Do you have a better practice for him ? Thank you for me and him.
Guest guest
I read a story by Joel Krammer once. He was a famous yoga teacher in the northern California region in the late 60's and early 70's. He had a stuttering problem also. He went to therapy and saw that it started when his little brother was born and he wasn't going to get as much attention, so he started to stutter. However that realization didn't help him, he went on doing it for many years. But as his classes got bigger and he became very passionate about communicating with people, it just stopped, but the relaxation he got from yoga certainly had something to do with it. I'm no expert on this but I would think he would need something with more pranayama than kirtan kryia---stuttering is kind of like Parkinsons's disease physiologically speaking. The fastest way to re-set the nerves is intense pranayama practice. I'm old school, I still prefer Long Ek Ong Kar's because of the intense breath work and the vibration of the sound in the brain. If done long enough and with a light diet it pushes very deep into the psyce. Everything relaxes......
