Guest guest
Dear KY group and Fateh, Ooops sorry about that. I aim to go to some classes and a dream would be to do the teacher training for the training and knowledge. You are so right about keeping the meditation in the moment, otherwise it doesnt work. I have to do lots of different 'kriyas' for various things, ideally I like to do a couple of hours at least a day, I have a good intense focus for maybe 5 days, then miss a few days due to ups and downs of the OCD and depression. Here is what for me is a must: Begining (This gets you in the mood) Silence, Tune In (6 cycles), spine-flexing 4-5min, shoulder shrug 2min Now as a baseline and in order of priority what I need generally to do: OCD 4 (For insanity - anxiety, stress and mental tension ) 11minuites OCD 5 (For rejuvenating the heart centre - For anxiety, stress and mental tension) 11min OCD 7 (For managing acute fears - play 'Chakra Chatri Varti') - 3min Remove haunting thoughts - ten steps to peace - 2-3 minuites OCD 8 (For treating OCD) this one you have to build up, I can do 6-11minuites at 12 secs, if I dont smoke I am much better at this. Now for depression Ganesha meditation - 3min Fighting brain fatigue - 14.5 minuites Jupiter/Saturn - 11min For PTSD and clearing blocks inner and outer Gan Putee 11min When you don't know what to do - 11min OR Habituation - Only 6-8 minuites (bit of avoidance here) Now I move to the outer limits of my practice (what are great but fitting them in tricky sometimes) Siddh Shiva - play Say Saraswati Ma meditation - golden shield Special healing meditation - 11min Kirtan Kriya - 31min Special Ram Dass meditation These are ones I would love to do, have tried: Pratyhar Tranquilising angry mind For eliminating deep long lasting anger Arcline Tantric meditation to create a normal and supernormal consciousness. Command your own consciousness to a higher consciousness. (etc.a few more along these lines) And Of Course Sat kriya Ten bodies So darshan Okay getting a bit tired now, need to eat and do some KY, get that baseline state of mind. I will write second part with some questions. I would say that although I love doing the meditations lower in the list in terms of how it makes me feel, the OCD ones are very important and ones I need to do, I cant go further unless I am freer here. I also use Cognitive behaviour therapy for emergencies, it sometimes is a pre-KY must. Kundalini yoga though makes cognitive behaviour therapy so much easier, and potentially would limit the need for it at all. So this is a bit about what I do, I have never met another KY person in the flesh ever, everything is from David's book and from here on the list and Info Centre and the beginners course on Kundalini Yoga and 3HO that kind of thing. I uses to go to a Kashmir Yoga class though for many years, it is Hatha yoga, but based around sensitivity to subtle body - feeling. Yet spine-flexing is the best thing ever for my back, ever ever. I have been practising KY for 2years now. Love from, Sukhnivas
Guest guest
Suknivas, I would definitely see about doing what you can do to get to a group class. The group energy is so important is how it carries and contains you, and teacher essential is how they guide you. And you really, really must always tune in and tune out - not sure if you mentioned that. Check out some video classes if you must for those nuances. Even though KY is considered a 'householders' yoga, it doesn't mean you should be doing it alone. I'm not saying I'm qualified to suppose one way or another that you don't need all of that stuff you are doing, but you have to understand a bit that the reasons or explanations of the exercises are one thing... but since the actually devotional aspect of the practice is what you're reaching for, then it doesn't really matter what you do. Some of the descriptions are hyperbole, to some degree, and it's not always literally what the kriyas do that matters. What matters is you find the touchstone that you need to access the infinite and get into touch with group consciousness. Being steady with yourself and honest is invaluable. Find your 'way' through devotion rather than description and evaluation. Where are you located that you can't find a class? Fateh
