Guest guest
Sat Nam, The same Yogi Bhajan who has been quoted as saying God is within... [E.g., " Man has been put in search of God; and this separated him from God-from the very first day! Yet even today, neither can man find God, nor is the search over. So man is out of his being, out of his psyche, out of his orbit. Man is searching for something that is inside him. The jewel is in his pocket, and he is looking in everybody else's pocket. No person can find fulfillment when there is a conscious split from the reality within. " © The Teachings of Yogi Bhajan, July 16, 1989]...that same Yogi Bhajan has also said, " This experience (life) you are having - Did you create it? Can you destroy it? Then, shut up and eat your banana. " So, in answer to the question of whether God is inside or outside, even our teacher has indicated that the Generating Organizing Destroying energy (and the law of cause and effect) - is operating BOTH inside and outside of us. Though the psyche may be " split " by seeking God outside, anyone who has responded to the news that " God is within " with either loss of faith, feelings of abandonment, or megalomania...may want to consider the Gurus' image of the " ocean of many waves " ...or as Sat Hari Singh of New York puts it, " We may be God qualitatively - but not quantitatively. " So there is always reason to " See God in all, " and " where you bow you will be blessed. " Where One is not separated from the other, there is never duality, and One will find God within and without. It is in that consciousness that Guru Arjan, who was martyred on a hot plate while hot sand was poured over his body, described his experience: " It's just God pouring God on God.
