Guest guest
I read that Yogi Bhajan taught that ghee is a " pure protein " food. Why would he say this? Ghee has no protein in it. I'm just curious what anyone else makes of this.
Guest guest
Hopefully someone will have a detailed answer. I tried to tease out the science behind protein, fats and carbs and got as far as I could. Venturing a guess (without the pure science)...when you make ghee your take butter and remove the " fats " ...what is left is... pure fat? pure oil? Yogi Bhajan knew enough science not to make that type of error. Let's view from the beginning, " dairy " is a " protein " source for the body: milk, cheese, yogurt, whey. Can everyone say " whey protein powder " . The amino acids and other compound are removed when making ghee and only " pure " protein...the effectivness of protein on the body remains. Anyways this is what I made of it. This is especially important to me as I eat lots of ghee. Looking forward to others thoughts. I also found links that are useful for those who know little or nothing about ghee. This first link is a comparison of manufactures, this link has other links to follow. http://freeradicalfederation.com/Ghee_Comparison_Table Sat Ganesha " participate, share, contribute " Kundalini-Yoga , " spikycork " <spikycork wrote: > > I read that Yogi Bhajan taught that ghee is a " pure protein " food. Guest guest
Ghee is said to make and nourish " Ojas " ....that is not a substance that western science would consider. It is more than just semen or cerebral spinal fluid... some how it gets " irradiated " in the heat of tapa ( the psychic pressure caused by certain kryias). Ojas then becomes a highly energized generating substance that travels through the nadis regenerating or more specifiably etherializing matter that has not yet been irradiated. If the pressure can be contained for a long enough time, the body is filled up and it has no other place to go but in an " outward " direction...it because " aura " and aura is also a building block for creating events around you. Yogji could have meant something like that....but Ghee is the beginning catalyst. So it is said. Personally I have better results with Chlorella and pumpkin seed oil. Many things can turn to Ojas in the heat of tapa. I like chlorella because it reaches into the DNA level and it attracts more solar energy because it is chlorophyll. And also I want to say this. Yogji spoke many words over many years...and when he first got here...although his English was pretty good, he did not have the command of the English language to express everything he was thinking. I noticed how his language and use of words grew in the first 10 years. And I doubt very much that he would want to be put on a pedestal where every little thing he said would be considered un-questionable....otherwise he would not have given us the hukum to be 10 times greater.......... Hope this helps some Kir Kundalini-Yoga , " satganesha " <satganesha wrote: > > Hopefully someone will have a detailed answer.
