Guest guest
I do Yogi Bhajan's kundalini yoga and I have found it to be very helpful and stimulating. It has made me truly love yoga. Particularly powerful is the Adi Shakti mantra (ek ong kar sat nam siri wahe guru), which is supposed to stimulate k-energy. You can see a YouTube video of the mantra at http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=isacuXODnMw. When I do this I chant " ek " at the root chakra and each sound through the following chakras with " wahe " coming out of the crown chakra and " guru " through the aura descending back to the root. Don't go overboard on this one, a little at first goes a long way. Guest guest
For " the Awakened State " yoga is a great system to become involved with. Hatha Yoga is one I will recommend. Because K yoga follows many of the kriya positions that awakened Kundalini naturally places the body into, if the kriyas are being given, I feel it is a good system to practice but without all of the " in the body " or " the dead " Guru worship. And the opining about nestling between the Gurus toes etc. - lol! Just a thought! As Kundalini is already awakened you may just wish to allow it to help you by opening to its suggestions for you and perhaps this is what is even causing you to ask the question? Just make sure that if you do a KY asana that is directed to one side of the body that you do the other side as well. Always look for the balance whatever yoga system you try. - > , " kundaflame " > <kundaflame@> wrote: > > > > Is Kundalini Yoga (I don't know if there are any other types but the > > one brought by Yogi Bhajan) a good aid for an awakened Kundalini? > > >
Guest guest
Sat nam Paul, I have been about a week behind on my daily digests on the yoga group and am just catching up with your thread. I am sorry to see you go if you are removing yourself from the list. I have enjoyed your posts and your courage to say how you feel and to also allow yourself to be vulnerable, sharing your experience with OCD and such. I want you to know that I think of you sometimes even when I am not online, and just wonder how you are doing that day (as I do also for some of our other frequent posters). If you go, I'll surely miss what you bring to this . In my opinion you are welcome here and just because somebody wrote an email to you that seems condemning , it does not reflect the whole group's opinion. It appeared to me his anger and contempt at his old way of being got brought up when he saw you in your pain that was similar to his old pain. This does not excuse the fact that he offended you. Some people are into dishing out " tough love " . I for one am not. I am one who crumbles at people being harsh with me when I am in a weak and vulnerable state. I tend to love in a gentle way because I feel your pain and I have been there, or a similar " there " . Don't give up on the yoga. I see how it is helping you stay sane. It's what's holding me together these days as well. I have done Kundalini Yoga for about 12.5 years now. It helped me tremendously in my life. I am actually very happy now, overall, but like all humans I have moments of feeling pathetic or unlovable, etc. Luckily i know I can always come back to the yoga, and sometimes now just a few minutes of Sat Kriya is all it takes to ground me and clear my head of negative voices and pointless worry. Keep up, Paul. Hugs from over here in a small town in Florida in the USA.
