As I recall Yogi Bhajan once said Basmati white rice was better for us than

Basmati brown. As I recall he said that brown rice was bad for the kidneys

unless it is cooked for twenty hours. Does anyone know anything about this?

This is what I have heard YB say many times. One thing I have not been able to

reconcile is that he also said white Basmati rice is naturally unhulled. I had

a discussion with some Ayurvedic vaidyas on an Ayurvedic website. They all told

me that white Basmati is hulled. The brown Basmati sold in stores is a hybrid

from Basmati and brown rice as far as I know.
