Dear Sangat,

i am going to teach a men´s group soon. It would be very helpful, if any of you

who is experienced in this field could recommend kriyas or meditations to me or

share his experience in this special field.

Sat Nam Willem,

I am not sure if you have access to this book: I have been teaching men for several months and I have started to teach recently kriyas and meditations from Man to Man manual. I highly recommend it. It has great lectures as well.

Good luck,

Stretch pose if great.

I suggest warm them up with 11 minutes of it, then do a 31 minute set of stretch

pose, and then follow with an 11 minute meditation in stretch pose.

Shubagd Kriya is also great. Anything 'warrior' related like Archer pose.

Anything with vitality or stamina in the title.

Turn them around, flip them over, twist em, and bake em good! :)

Oh yea, and this is most important: (and I'm not joking here... all the other

stuff I said is really just for warm-ups...)

The set should open their hearts like they've never been opened before! Get them

out of their heads!!

Fateh

Sat Nam Fateh,

I hope this is a joke because my grade school arithmetic tells me this is 41

min. of stretch pose.

Sat Nam,

Some great tools at khalsa_men

For the last five years there has been Khalsa Mens Camp in the Sunshine

Coast in British Columbia.

There are recordings of classes and lectures, copies of Kriyas and

meditations, etc.

More to come,

Willem...along with " Man to Man " ...look for Robert Johnson, he wrote a short

little book called " He " ......he also wrote " She " and " We " ...he is a Jungian

psychologist and the books are modern day interpretations of old fairy

tails...very interesting, and will enhance what you are doing....

Haha... Your arithmetic needs some work! :)

Of course, I was joking about the 55 minutes - sorry dry humor doesn't come

across well in writing.

But it would certainly take you out of your head. :)

That being said, I will share a little trick with stretch pose. Yogi Bhajan said

to do it every day for 3 minutes (for Men especially).

If you've ever had trouble reaching 3 minutes and sustaining it, do this very

simple trick before hand: 13-26 push ups. That's it!

Give yourself a rest of 30-90 seconds before starting stretch pose, and you will

be surprised. Apparently push ups warm up and activate the core in such a way to

make it easier. I discovered this by mistake, and it works every time - even if

I haven't done stretch pose in weeks.

And yes, it's true Yogi Bhajan did make some people do stretch pose for 11

minutes back in the day! :)

The other small stretch pose tricks are:

Light mulhabandh throughout.

Rotate the thighs in slightly towards each other (creates a wider base at the

sacrum).

Set your clock for 6 minutes (and the 3 minutes comes so quick!)

;)

In my world, the set comes out to 53 minutes of stretch pose! (11 + 31 + 11) but

maybe that's a different world...

Sat Nam,

As a woman I have been watching this conversation on Sat Kriya for men

from the outside, but just now remembered a technique that makes Sat

Kriya easier for both men and women. It was given to a yoga class at

Solstice years ago when people had trouble keeping their legs up, and is

very simple:

Deeply press your fingertips on top of your head to either side of an

imagined " part down the middle. " Keeping the pressure, firmly pull your

fingers slightly towards each side.

The teacher explained that this spreads the skull bone apart minutely

and imperceptibly to give a lasting effect. It worked for me and others

in the class, giving immediate results.

Loving Blessings,

SS Guru Prem Kaur Khalsa
