Paula,

Overall, whatever gets you warmed up for meditation is good to do.

No sure what you mean by naval 'set' and 5th chakra 'set' - are these kriyas as

taught by Yogi Bhajan or warm-up exercises - and which ones?

It's never bad to start with a naval warm-up as this activates the Kundalini

energy. Do keep in mind that all kriyas are complete sets. Kriya means completed

action, so each kriya will also activate and raise the Kundalini energy, and

does not need to be altered.

Around that, you can do whatever you want, and working from naval to head is a

good direction to go.

the navel set I do I got from a KY book and it's the 'master your domain' one. I've practised the nabhi but didn't like it and liked this one better. the other 5th chakra set I got from gurmukh's book. so all of these are originally taught by YB.

I tend to hold tension in my head so the 5th chakra one, along with the brosa, I find help me to relax it. but I like working on the navel and heart center as well. I think it's important to work everything and keep things balanced
