Guest guest
Sat Nam Siri Atma Anselmi, The Aquarian Sadhana mantras can be done anytime but you will not get the same depth of experience. The best time is between 2am and 6am. It is during the Amrit Vela, the time that starts 2 1/2 hours before sunrise, that prana concentrates* and cleansing on all levels is more easily accomplished. This has always been the teaching of Yogi Bhajan, although some want reinterpret it since his passing. Simply being aware, vertical and leaning in the right direction at this time has profound effects as the subconscious, which is usually tucked away and suppressed by the habitual tensions in the physical body AND by our more conscious mental blinders are right there on the surface and in our conscious awareness. For the Buddhist, Hindu and for many other spiritual traditions the Amrit Vela is the acknowledged time for deep spiritual practice if you're privy to the monastic approach. The Amrit Vela, the Nectar Time 2½ hours before dawn, when the world is transitioning and deeply still. It is a time when many souls are born or leave their bodies. From 2am - 6am is the most Satvic time (check your Ayurveda! Ayurveda* and Yoga are flipsides of the same coin), not being pulled by the Tamasic guna (6am - 10am) or the pushed by the Rajasic Guna 10am - 2pm). There is no better opportunity to overcome inertia and practice stillness. I never fully could equate the Amrit Vela that occurs in the predawn (3-6am) with that that occurs in the late afternoon (3-6pm). Yeah, the angle of the sun and earth are the same so there is some opportunity regarding one's creative potential, but one is not overcoming the inertia of the subconscious mind. There is no struggle. The hotter the battle, the sweeter the victory..... "victory over time, and victory over space". Yogi Bhajan has said that practicing in the Amrit Vela is Ten times more powerful than at other times. It's a matter of leverage, if you're able to do it.
