Guest guest
Sat Nam, My other forum, mentioned Squidoo so I took a look and searched for Kundalini Yoga and got this message: Congratulations! You are one of the FIRST to search for this topic in Squidoo. Why not be one of the first to BUILD A LENS on it?. I don't have time right now, at least I don't think I do Squidoo is the popular publishing platform and community that makes it easy for you to create " lenses " online. Lenses are pages, kind of like flyers or signposts or overview articles, that gather everything you know about your topic of interest--and snap it all into focus. http://www.squidoo.com/ We call our pages " lenses " because each is one person's focus on something that she's interested in, something that matters to her. Many lensmasters earn more than $1,000 a year from Squidoo. Some make $10,000. Others are happy with $40 or $4. As of Dec 2009: About 800,000 people visit Squidoo (that means your lenses) every day. The more traffic one lens brings in, the greater the chances that visitor will see your lens as well. That means it's good for you when your competition on Squidoo succeeds. Squidoo hasn't taken funding from anyone other than ourselves. Squidoo is free to use. As of December 2009 we are one of the 100 most popular websites in the US. Guest guest
Good idea. So... I just created and published a page on Squidoo for " Kundalini Yoga as Taught by Yogi Bhajan " http://www.squidoo.com/kundaliniyogataughtbyyogibhajan Please go visit it, and 5 star rate it (if you think it deserves it), And please sign the guest book. More people coming, and higher ratings makes it more popular, and then others outside of our style may begin to see it. It's just one additional way to spread positive words about Kundalini Yoga. And with your suggestions and help, I'll add more as time goes on. And I will donate any and all advertising proceeds to the Library of Teachings... So without being too obvious, if you happen to or advertisement.. well, that may help. Guest guest
Well done, Fateh Singh! Good Job. I hope your 'lens' is the start of a flood of info about Kundalini Yoga. I just wish that you had also said that KY could be done by anyone, in any condition, which is true. Sat Nam, Sat Avtar Kaur Kundalini-Yoga , " Fateh Singh " <fatehsinghnyc wrote: > > Good idea. Guest guest
Thanks, I did sign up and in and commented. I also tried the squidoo search engine and kundalini or yogi bhajan didn't bring up your " lens " . Guest guest
Sat nam, Thanks for doing that. There is a spelling error, I believe. It should say " Burn off your karma " not " burn of your karma " when you introduce the kriya. Am I right? Guest guest
Sat Nam, Thanks for the comments and spelling corrections. They have been incorporated. That's the beauty of the web... There is no such thing as " I wish you had put in... " Also, I would ask please for some more people to come by and Rate and add something to the page (see below): http://www.squidoo.com/kundaliniyogataughtbyyogibhajan For the 3 people that did come by and 5-star rated the page, we improved the rank of the page in " Healing " category to 2,200th, and the overall rank from 36,000th to 31,000th! Let's see what a few more ratings do! With our sangat, this should be easy... And for the three jis who left a comment, I would ask that " amritaji " , " satganeshasingh " , and " SatManderKaur " , please return to the Guestbook and update their comments... I have changed the Title/purpose of the Guestbook... it's now a " Your Favorite Quote or 'Bhajanism' by Yogi Bhajan " . It's still a form that acts just like a Guestbook - But instead of saying " Cool!, Wahe Guru " , you should put your favorite YB quote in, and this way, it creates more content for the page, and the page grows. Please, everyone is invited. Sign in, Rate, and leave a YB Quote at the bottom of the page. Fun! http://www.squidoo.com/kundaliniyogataughtbyyogibhajan Fateh Singh -- p.s. the ads are all automatically generated by Squiddo. Any proceeds will go into my Paypal account, and from there, I will transfer all earnings to the Library of Teachings. So, if you visit the page, feel free to click an ad if it's of interest. --

Guest guest
Sat Nam, Again, about the DVD; the ads we have no control over... Just the content... And you can add in your own favorite Yogi Bhajan Quote at the bottom (content) and rate the page (ideally 5 stars). Guess what? Just because 2 more people rated it 5 stars, the page has now jumped from #2,200th to #392nd in Health category, and from #31,000th #6,899th overall! Good job... But we can do even a little better! >> http://www.squidoo.com/kundaliniyogataughtbyyogibhajan We may be small in number, but if we can be loud and prolific in the right places, it can have a big impact... but that means we have to chant together as one! Every voice counts! Let's see what a few of us can do in a grassroots way to help promote more awareness of Yogi Bhajan's teachings online. (Sorry if this looks [and feels] like I'm spamming the boards. As an experiment to see how far we can take this Squidoo thing, this will help to see if it's worth making many more pages like this for more KY related healing postings.) Thanks! > Please, everyone is invited. Sign in, Rate, and leave a YB Quote at the bottom of the page. Guest guest
OK! one LAST little mention... We've gotten a good number of people adding in great Yogi Bhajan quotes and Bhajanisms (some long, some short), but also EQUALLY important is to Rate the page 5-stars... You do this simply by clicking the 5th gray star (furthest right) at the very top of the page right under the topmost title where it says: " Rate this lens: ***** " So, one last time, get back in there and Rate it up! http://www.squidoo.com/kundaliniyogataughtbyyogibhajan Thanks to all. The page just recorded its 108th visit. Fateh Singh
Guest guest
I had a thought on this, you really need more than one page. Also more people need to write something, so that there is a foundation of KY info on Squidoo. When you get where you are aiming, people are going to want to know more and they will search and they find you again, with 1 page, 1 paragraph?? That does not make any sense to me. Three or 4 or more people, even if they only have one paragraph on the page, but it is about KY, about YB, then that is a start, it adds to what you have put put up. I will put up a page, I just have to do a gazzillion things first. Maybe, about a dozen things more or less. Guest guest
Sat Nam Sat Avtar Kaur, Of course the idea is to put up many more pages. This was an exercise to see what 1 page would do, and how much effort it takes, and what the results would be. Also, helps us to learn the system and way to 'work' the pages on Squidoo. It may just be a waste of time - we don't know that yet for sure. In the future, I think the goal would be that we could have several dozen pages, with the idea being that they would be complimentary, both in content, and in presentation, look, feel, writing, and imagery. Hence = The Brand. We all have things to do, so it's progressing along as fast as it needs to be at the moment... I'd say put up as many pages as you like, BUT, wouldn't it be nicer if we coordinated with the " online group " to put up pages that all matched the messages we want to share, AND if they complimented each other at the same time? I was thinking, if we coordinated, with 4 people, that we could each put up 1 page per week (1 per month each), and thus in 1 year, we'd have 50+ pages up there. Not bad. But let's do it under the umbrella of a cohesive and thought-out plan that works together to compliment and enhance the message. Drop me an email me to discuss further: fatehsinghyoga Fateh Singh Kundalini-Yoga , " sat_avtar_kaur " wrote: > > When you get where you are aiming, people are going to want to know more and they will search and they find you again, with 1 page, 1 paragraph?? Guest guest
Sat Nam, Per your request, I did send you an email. You have not replied. So I will address it here. QUOTE: Of course the idea is to put up many more pages. This was an exercise to see what 1 page would do, and how much effort it takes, and what the results would be. So, you do this, gain the momentum, have lots of people 'pinging it' and searching for more pages, and you waste 'the momentum' by only having one page. QUOTE: Also, helps us to learn the system and way to 'work' the pages on Squidoo. It may just be a waste of time - we don't know that yet for sure. Nothing is ever wasted in this Universe, you do not know who will read this or when or what effect it will have on their lives. Think of it, as planting Seeds, only the wind will ever know where they went or who read them. QUOTE: In the future, I think the goal would be that we could have several dozen pages, with the idea being that they would be complimentary, both in content, and in presentation, look, feel, writing, and imagery. Hence = The Brand. The 'future' does not exist. We only have 'NOW'. It is even possible, that this discussion, on 'formalizing' and 'rule making of pages' and ways of writing, is keeping people, from writing anything. As far as 'THE BRAND', it is already in place, just simply put " Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan " and nothing else is needed. If you really want to test the waters, then do all the sites, Answers, Google Knol, word press, my space and everything else. But, make it a flood of Kundalini Yoga pages as taught by Yogi Bhjan. QUOTE: We all have things to do, so it's progressing along as fast as it needs to be at the moment... I'd say put up as many pages as you like, BUT, wouldn't it be nicer if we coordinated with the " online group " to put up pages that all matched the messages we want to share, AND if they complimented each other at the same time? Please define, what you mean here, complimented how? How long will it take your 'group' to define the rules and regulations of doing this writing style? Spontaneity of different view points, different writing styles be lost, by making it all the same? And, it will be obvious to all who read it. And I think this is complicating a very simple project. You picked up the ball and you ran with it. You wrote the page, and became the first to do so on Squidoo. This was wonderful. I think you did a great job, you even changed your initial post to include those of us, who can't do the very strenuous poses. Thank your for that. But, I have an uneasy feeling about this type of a approach. It is hard enough, to write the pages, without putting rules and regulations on how to say and it. For example, on this forum in the past, there was talk about having or not having books approved of by KRI. I am expressing an opinion and a feeling, here, that is all. You have yours, I have mine. You can do what you want to on Squidoo, and I and others can do what we want, if we want to.
