Guest guest
Be careful, yogis, about politicizing this . Try to connect it as much as possible to yoga. So, if a bunch of politicians and bureaucrats come up with a hair-brained idea to fine and jail yoga teachers who fail to pay up and exam up to teach yoga, then we should organize in a " grassroots " way to defend our property Right to pursue happiness and enjoy the fruits of our labor. But as far as the Supreme Court's correction of the false division of our Speech Right into " individual " versus " corporate " , as Scalia said in his majority opinion in the " Citizen " case you reference, there's nothing in the original intent of the First Amendment that allows our national government to interfere with speech made by groups of individuals contracted together in a corporation. Indeed, it's a distraction of ones time to look at the source of a politician's financing, compared to where the laser focus should be on: HIS VOTES (e.g. are the votes constitutional, or not?. Further, the real danger from corporations isn't what they say, advertise or spend, but rather on the AVAILABILITY OF GOVERNMENT FOR THEIR EXPLOITATION. That's because regulators negotiate with their larger regulated companies, and the end product never fails to be a a complex mess that's no problem for the larger incumbents to pay for and fill out forms, but the regulation becomes A BARRIER TO ENTRY for the smaller entrepreneurs, who can't afford the compliance burden and thus go out of business, leaving consumers with fewer choices, and thus lower quality and higher prices. It's government, not the " speech right " of a corporation, that's the problem with businesses. Of course, if a corporation commits a harm, there's always the court system to adjudicate disputes. This is how a yoga regulation would operate, so please oppose this next time it arises. Guest guest
I recall that last year someone sent an interesting message on the workings of the whole geopolitical world. This included the human activities of politics, economics, religion. This was 'Zeitgeist'. We are all human beings on this planet, here and now. How do you and I conduct ourselves as humans when we are told to wake up? What is the real meaning of this waking up? If I am aware of the corruption, evil and manipulation happening on a global level then how do I deal with it? If yoga is about being aware then how can any one of us afford to act complacently when it comes to those matters. Why these cannot be included on a yoga website. Is not KY a tool? What do we do with this tool? I must admit, I experience fear when I think about the real story behind the story of political arena and how beautifully it is constructed to mislead, confuse and create impurity. How does the human deal with this? What is the way to act be and think powerfully? We say wake up. When we wake up, how to deal with it?
