Guest guest
Sat Nam! I have a student who takes Kundalini Yoga from me twice a week, and has done so for about a year. I have given her a mantra to do for 40 days, which she has completed, and she does some practices on her own the rare times she has to miss class. She diligently tunes in and gives herself 10 minute rests at the end, as of course we do in class. Every class lately, we'll do a posture (for instance recently, one in 'Balancing the Depository System' where we were lying on our backs and lifting both legs with crossed ankles, recrossing and lowering back down) and she'll suddenly get a Kundalini headache. The first time I suggested she wear a head covering to class -- now she does that and still gets at least one headache every class. I only get these now and then teaching Prenatal when I haven't a chance to relax on my back. How can I help my student? Can anyone with similar experience weigh in on this? Thank you, In service, Wambezi Ungowa/Premdev Kaur

Make sure she drinks water during, before, or after class. Dehydration can cause all kinds of things, one is headaches, body cramps, etc. Everyone doing KY needs to be sure they and their students are hydrated. Water is the father.
