Guest guest
What’s often forgotten in the practice of KY is that in every exercise, every kriya, every set, every breath, there is an active aspect and a passive aspect. The active aspect is intended to charge the nerves and trigger the glands to secrete, the passive aspect is the time needed for the glands related to the particular exercise, kriya etc to secrete to complete a circuit of sustainable energy flow through the nerves and to balance the system of body field. For example, the nerves require the flow of semen into the blood stream to coat them in order for them to sustain the voltage generated in the active part of the exercise and kriya, without which the body begins to experience a kind of shortage or stress, even the pressure of anger one has under stress. Moreover, when glands secrete, the flow of their secretion needs to circulate and connect with the other glands of the body, so that a balancing of the body field is realized. This is something that was always taught in the early years, but, probably with the need for constant activity at the Y and fitness centers, the passive aspects, within which the total experience intended for the exercise, kriya, mantra, set, have been reduced or eliminated, resulting in a lot of practice resulting in either not much experience or experiences of stress and strain. Yogi Bhajan often explained the experience one was supposed to have when doing a particular exercise, kriya, mantra, set, but because the passive aspects of the KY exercise, kriya, mantra, set are less adhered to people are not having the experiences he mentions and often think that they may not be real or maybe an exaggeration. However, if the passive aspects are adhered to, you will have these experiences. Moreover, the whole body field will begin to radiate inwardly and pervasively, and you will begin to experience yourself, as a field of radiant consciousness with singular intelligence and deepening knowledge about who and what you really are until the sense of pervading “I” suddenly impacts the timeless self essence, the all pervasive universal consciousness, where Atman is discovered to always be one, single, not two with Brahman, unconditioned, uncaused, Singularity of pervasive Self Radiant Being. The Cloud of Virtue. The Transfiguration. Pradupati. When you do an exercise, kriya, mantra, set, after the active aspect, Wait! After a few moments, you will begin to feel a kind of a flowing, a penetrating sort of warmth, electric radiance penetrating subtly through the body field. When it reaches the head and crown, the hear will give a sense of inward recognition of knowledge related to the Self, the “I” of our “I” – Then Wait a moment before going to the next exercise in the set. These exercises and kriyas build upon one another to create a whole experience which is intended by the set. At the end of the set, lay out and feel through the body bottom of the feet to the crown and back down. The body needs in fact to shut down and reboot after a set. Then once you return with the breathing set, etc. again remain seated until you feel the sense of inwardly pervading balance of body, mind, intellect, where the intellect is the singular sense of abiding quest into the experience of the single pervasiveness of your being, versus the tendency of the mind to reach out and cling to an identity to this and that fleeting thought and emotion. Instead you remain as the light of the seer, in consideration of who you are as That Light, without which there is nothing seen or created. So, remember the passive aspects. Also, with every inhalation comes an expansion of the feeling of prana or radiance. Remember to also notice that with the exhalation cones a sense of dissolving or relinquishment inherent in apana. In the noticing of the two, you come to experience That part that sees. The Heart will become full and radiate like a Sun (Ik Tar), and you won’t know the experience of stress, strain, anger or resulting pressure of resistance. These worries cause a physical reaction in form of tightness of the chest area. It's not there all the time. Anyway, although I'm doing a lot of yoga, I can't really get rid of it. When I do lungs and heart kriyas it seems to get slightly better for a moment but I haven't found the ultimate exercise for my problem yet. Is there something you guys can recommend? Are there herbal teas helpful for anxiety, are there yoga sets or meditations I should try? What about pranayama? I'd be glad to get some ideas. Thanks in advance
Guest guest
What has helped me the most for anxiety is Nabhi Kriya: kundalini yogakyt09.html Scroll down the page for the actual kriya. Build the times up to full times, and do it every day. As you have said, heart openers clear the area for a while. . . but strengthening the 3rd chakra over time grounds you in your sense of power, less prone to anxiety. Exercise D in nabhi kriya is especially amazing, it strengthens and grounds at the navel point while opening up the heart chakra also. Make sure, especially when doing the 2nd exercise, that the low back stays flat on the floor. build the time up slowly as you gain strength. Also, check your angle in exercise D, you want 60 degrees - like one side of an equilateral triangle. Ardas Singh
