Greetings all,

I had actually had an astrology reading done last year and I am aware

of this concept of using mantra and kriyas to ease your karmic load

for this lifetime. I had a western astrology reading but have heard of

the Vedic. In my chart, I am retrograde in Saturn and Jupiter and I

think maybe that's why my life has not been so easy but I always feel

it's so difficult for me to expand and grow.

Anyways, are there any specific KY mantras or kriyas for these

difficulties? I was looking at the Jupiter mudra and it's the mudra

one makes while doing sat kriya. I am doing SK already so maybe that

can help?

thanks

Paula

Gunpati Kriya cuts through all karmic blocks. Gunpati is another name for

Ganesha, the Hindu god of Wisdom and Happiness, and thus the patron deity for

scholars and merchants.

I did this meditation for 90 days (at 31 minutes) and it brought all my karma to

the surface, allowing me to work on it consciously and move through it. My

experience is that it brings everything up, but renders what might be a charged

emotion or memory powerless to affect your state of mind. In short, it was very

powerful.

Just sit in easy pose, eyes focused at the 3rd eye. Hands are in gyan mudra, but

you alternate the fingertips touching as you chant:

" SA TA NA MA / RA MA DA SA / SA SAY SO HUNG. "

Continue for 11-62 minutes. Then inhale deeply, hold the breath and stretch the

whole body slowly and thoroughly. Repeat 3-5 times.

Then sit up tall and focus at the tip of the nose, becoming absolutely still for

2-3 minutes.

This meditation can be found on page 420 of the Aquarian Teacher. There is a lot

of really great info about this kriya on that page. What I have written here is

slightly different than what is in the book, but KRI has recently reviewed and

corrected the ending of the meditation, and what I have written here is correct.

Hello,Yes I'm a bit familiar with Ganesha, although I didn't know he was associated with Jupiter, but it makes sense since he's associated with success and prosperity. I usually do sat kriya first followed by ganapati. I think working with these should be enough to cover and manage my karmic difficulties, particularly in regards to Saturn and Jupiter. But if there are maybe more suitable kriyas or meditations, that would be more suitable and target more this planetary issue. But maybe they are good enough.

It's certainly a simple practice but I think it's working.Paula On Thu, Apr 22, 2010 at 11:58 AM, johnandersonhall <johnandersonhall wrote:

Dear JL,

The characteristics of the planets are universal. In a sense we are the planets

and stars. The idea is we get specific planetary placements in our chart due to

'karma'. In other words the planets are the lords of karma. But karma is also

a lot deeper and more complex than we can imagine, what I mean is if we have

karma, then God and the Universe also does. The chart is an expression of life,

love, lessons and light. Our time of birth is fixed, and our time of death is

fixed, regardless of how we live. We cannot change our longevity, yet we may be

able to affect our health. Incidentally, we take the cutting of the chord as

the time of birth not the breath. The cord is a 'rope' like a snake and relates

to the karmic nodes, the cutting of the chord gives an independent existence,

when we spiritually rejoin the chord, we remember our past and awaken to who we

are.

Spiritual people will generally have Jupiter aspects or conjunctions to their

Sun, Moon or Ascendant or other vital points. This makes you a good person,

basically, and inclined to truth and so on. The Sun is the projector, the Soul,

the Moon the projection or consciousness, the Ascendant the physical body and

intellect, characteristics etc.

Jupiter is the Guru or teacher, and represents intelligence and spirituality, so

its involvement with the above factors is considered a blessing.

Hope that little bit helps,

Paul

Sat Nam!

There is the " Meditation to change an imperfect natal chart " (p.145 " Sexuality

and Spirituality " by Gururattan Kaur Khalsa and Anne Marie Maxwell).

I dont think we do. But I know nothing of astrology - maybe this hurts my life.

I don't blame planets for me messing up or give them credit for me doing OK. I

credit Kundalini Yoga kriyas and meditaitons for doing me a lot of good.

Seems I mix and match what I take from Yogi Bhajan's teachings. Maybe that's

shallow or maybe I have to go to work 5 days a week and can't get into his

teachings to much depth. The again maybe it's yoga for householders like me.

Keith.
