Guest guest
Thank you for this eloquent treatise! You really captured the pith of yoga's strength -- to capture the relation to the cosmos and not merely the ego. The answers to " Who am I? " are indeed slogans used for the purpose of societal cohensiveness and palliative care rather than penetrating insight. The words regarding Rene Descartes were also right on target, but let's not dismiss all of Western philosophy with one blanket assessment. The phenomenological school (my own parampara) have succeeded in throwing Descartes's " I " off of its pedestal. In particular E. Levinas has composed a profound system that bases philosophy on morality instead of morality on philosophy. Thanks for that one!
