Guest guest
Yoganjali Natyalayam Presents PRANAVA SADHANA CD of Excerpts from a Live Recording of the All Night AUM (Om) Chanting Performed on the Occasion of the 130th Birth Anniversary of Sri La Sri Swami Kanakananda Brighu Guru Maharaj. 2nd February 2004 at Ananda Ashram (ICYER) Pondicherry, South India Sri la Sri Swami Kanakananda Brighu Guru Maharaj was the famous Bengali Yogi also known as the sleepless saint (Kanouya). A disciple of Swami Vibidishananda Brighu and a grand disciple of Swami Purnananda Brighu, he was a master of Yoga, Yantra, Mantra and Tantra. His world famous disciple Yogamaharishi Dr Swami Gitananda Giri Guru Maharaj later codified the invaluable Yoga teachings of this illustrious Paramparai into what is now known as Rishiculture Ashtanga (Gitananda) Yoga. An important part of this sacred Yoga tradition is the teaching of the Pranava Pranayama using the sacred sounds (Shabda) of AAA… OOO… and MMM…. in order to invoke the potency of the primordial sound AUM. Yogamaharishi Dr Swami Gitananda Giri Guru Maharaj celebrated his beloved master’s birth anniversary every year on the 3rd of February and always preceded it with the all night chanting of the Pranava AUM by inmates of the Ananda Ashram on 2nd February in memory of these wonderful teachings. This tradition is carried on even after Pujya Swamiji’s Maha Samadhi by Yogacharini Meenakshi Devi Bhavanani and Yogacharya Dr Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani as a fitting tribute to the Guru Paramparai who have graced us with these evolutionary teachings of Yoga. This live recording was recorded during the All Night Om Chanting on 2nd February 2004 at ICYER and the dedicated members of Ananda Ashram who participated in the chanting are Yogacharini Meenakshi Devi Bhavanani, Yogacharya Dr Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani, Yogacharini Dr Nalini Devi, Yogacharini Maitreyi, Padma, Gowri Sankera, Hariharan, Shaminder Singh, Nadine Kerin, Monika Levenstein, Maythili Sharan, Pradeep John Muthaiya, Christiane Hanert and Arja Miettinen-Baumann. We thank Sri Hariharan for the live recording that was later re mastered and mixed at St Xavier Studio by Er. Rajendran and coordinated by Yogacharya Dr Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani. We also thank Sri Gowri Sankera for stimulating and motivating us to produce this CD. We wish all our listeners great benefit and peace from the meditative and healing properties of the sacred Pranava as chanted in the Rishiculture Ashtanga (Gitananda) Yoga tradition. Yoganjali Natyalayam has been a pioneer in propagating as well as developing various aspects of our beloved Indian Culture and has brought out this live recording for the benefit of all sincere lovers of the Yoga tradition. The brainchild of Puduvai Kalaimamani Yogacharini Meenakshi Devi Bhavanani, Yognat was founded to give the people of Pondicherry a chance to learn the wonderful Indian cultural arts of Yoga, Bharatanatyam and Carnatic Music in a modern Gurukula setting. Through many learning situations such as regular classes, summer intensives, camps, competitions, group activities, performances, conferences, seminars, lecture-demonstrations and excursions the students are taught to imbibe the greatness of Yoga and the Indian Fine Arts. The emphasis is on personality development and learning to be a “good human being” rather than on results, prizes and performances. Health, positive attitudes, peacefulness of mind, skilled, strong bodies, quest for excellence and perfection are qualities Yognat strives to inculcate. Children find a place where they have the chance to express their inner creative urges through Yoga and classical Indian arts and at the same time, learn a unique discipline of body, emotions and mind. Yognat aims to ground the students in the roots and values of our ancient Indian Culture. In the modern, materialistic world, it strives to remain a voice of sanity – It tries to remain faithful to its motto – the aim – the goal – set for it by Yogamaharishi Dr. Swami Gitananda Giri Guru Maharaj when he established Yoganjali Natyalayam on March 27, 1993: “Spiritual Perfection through Yogic and Artistic Excellence” Cost of each CD Foreign : US $ 15 (includes postage) Indian: Rs 300 (includes postage) Yogacharya Dr.Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani Chairman Yoganjali Natyalayam and ICYER 25,2nd Cross,Iyyanar Nagar, Pondicherry-605 013 Tel;0413 2622902 / 0413 2241561 abb,yognat2001 Website: www.icyer.com Protect your identity with Mail AddressGuard
