Dear all

Amma was recently teaching a class at the Summer ntensive and said that the difference between being hunam and animal is that we humans have the 3 Cs

they are

Consciousness

Control and

Choice

Swamiji always said that we could change ourself if we are conscious but how many of us are really conscious?

our experience with all types of people in Pondy in the last 35 years is that very few people can change as most dont want to do so in the first place !

when a pig can enjoy wallowing in the mud as a pig, why would it want to become something else and lose that fun?

remember the devolutionary path is fast and great fun as opposed to the slow and steady evolutionary one

Yogacharya Shivan termed it the bitter path but better path -some time back!!

Dear Dr, Ananda, this is in continuation of the discussion going onthe subject . for quite sometime i also believed that basicallyall human beings are made up of more or less the same--material and it is upto our own efforts of what wecan do and achieve till i heard few months back on tvmaharishi maheshyogi explaining how we are limited tosomeextent in our evolution and growth by thesubstance we inherit as DNA from our parents. The socalled vasanas are part of this.Soil can be from marshy areas, foot of the hill withlot of stones, sand from riverbed and clay.Basicallyall this is "Mud"But what we can make out from each type of mud isdetermined by the intrinsic variations whithin itself. In a subtle way it also partly explains our owndifferent capacities, physically, intellectually

andotherwise, and the different levels of understandingthe same subject by students in the same sitting ..In a yogic sense the fair trying to get the suntanand the notsofair trying to look more fair are in thesame boat of "Becoming", and not in tune with theirown reality'Yoga is in being yourself now as you are withawarenessNarasimhan. winPeakStudio <twinpeaksstudio wrote: >You know, I don't think that the 'modern world' is> any more insane than any other, and I really enjoyed> the 'political' question - it's all part of the> greater whole and can't be ignored !
