A new member in the worldwide Gitananda Yoga Family

 

 

Three o'clock in the afternoon of the 23rd October eleven students of

Ashtanga Rishiculture Yoga as taught by Yogamaharishi Dr. Swami

Gitananda Giri Guru Maharaj and in Ananda Ashram came together to

establish a new Gitananda Yoga Society " Gitananda Yoga Gesellschaft,

Deutschland e.V. " in Berlin, Germany. The participating members were:

Ute Alberty, Elina Badur, Leonhard Baumann, Leena Elo, Christiane

Hanert, Markus Häussler, Birgit Christiane Kay, Eira Lötjönen, Arja

Miettinen-Baumann, Uta Schulze and Simo Siren. At the beginning of

this very special occasion a Puja was performed to honour Swamiji.

Yogacharini Leena Elo greeted all the quests and emphasized the

auspicious date we had chosen for the foundation meeting on the day

of Vijaya Dasami. This is also the day of visiting the Guru and

presenting Gurudakshina. After this the formal part started with

presentation and discussion of the statutes of the society, which

were worked out to suit to the demands of a charitable society. The

first and foremost aim of the " Gitananda Yoga Gesellschaft,

Deutschland e.V. " is to support and to spread out the knowledge and

science of the Rishiculture Ashtanga Yoga of the Paramparai of

Yogamaharishi Dr. Swami Gitananda Giri Guru Maharaj. The

participating members accepted the statutes by common consent. After

this the executive committee was elected. The persons elected were:

Arja Miettinen-Baumann as chairman, Leena Elo as representative and

Uta Schulze as treasurer. The legal act of the formation of the

society was finalised through signing the statutes by all

participants. The society now has to be registered as such by the

German authorities, which is expected to happen in the course of the

next 4 to 8 weeks. We the members of the " Gitananda Yoga

Gesellschaft, Deutschland e.V. " are very interested in forming

relationships with all the international Gitananda Yoga Societies.

Through inviting quest teachers from abroad we have the great

opportunity of learning from another. Furthermore our intension is to

bring the knowledge of the Yoga science and the ancient wisdom as

taught by Dr. Swami Gitananda Giri and in Ananda Ashram to all those

interested in Yoga and in questions dealing with the inner growth but

who until now didn't have any access to Swamiji's teachings. May Guru

be with us.
