Our goal is to establish Yoga as a recognized and respected therapy in the Western world.

As a member of IAYT, you will not only support your own development as a Yoga professional, but also contribute to the awareness of Yoga as a healing art.

For membership information or assistance, please visit www.iayt.org or call us at 928-541-0004, M-F, 10-4, MST.

Dear IAYT Members and Friends,

We would like your help in inviting your friends and colleagues to join IAYT by forwarding this message to those who might be interested in the benefits of membership and in supporting IAYT's mission to establish Yoga as a recognized and respected therapy in the Western world.

We have substantially improved our publications and other benefits of membership. We are also making important new initiatives to represent the discipline to integrative medicine practitioners and provide more public education about Yoga therapy.

Membership benefits include:

The International Journal of Yoga Therapy, the only professional and scientific journal dedicated to Yoga as a healing practice. The issue forthcoming in October will be the biggest and best yet, including a seminal article by Kausthub Desikachar on the Yoga of healing, a behind-the-scenes look at the first NIH sponsored clinical trial on Yoga for chronic lower back pain, several complimentary articles on financial support for Yoga therapy, and more.

Yoga Therapy in Practice (YTiP), IAYT's new print newsletter providing practical ideas for Yoga practitioners, Yoga teachers, Yoga therapists, and health care professionals. The premier issue of YTiP will be sent to members in September.

Your own in-depth professional profile in IAYT's online professional directory.

Membership supports public actions for Yoga therapy:

IAYT and the Yoga Alliance co-sponsored and represented Yoga at the National Education Dialogue to Advance Integrated Health Care in June. To our knowledge, this is the first time Yoga has been represented at an event of this kind.

IAYT commissioned a formal legal opinion, to be published in the upcoming issue of the International Journal of Yoga Therapy, that supports Yoga therapy as a qualified medical expense.

IAYT commissioned an article on Yoga for osteoporosis, which will be published in our upcoming journal and has been recently posted on our website as a public service.

Your membership is an affordable way to support your own work and continuing education, while connecting to the growing community of Yoga professionals. Please help to support our mission and strengthen the voice of Yoga professionals worldwide.

You can join IAYT by visiting www.iayt.org (click "Join IAYT").
