Description of Event:

World-renown Yoga Masters and Research Professionals gather in San Rafael, CA at the 2nd Annual International Yoga Therapy Conference As the national awareness of yoga continues to grow, the field is projected to move from a current “conscious-image” phase focusing mainly on the physical benefits of various postures, to a deeper, more multi-faceted understanding of the wholeness of yoga. The practice of applying yoga with a therapeutic intention fills in the niche that opens up. Yoga Therapy is the emerging tendency in health and wellness. From May 18-20, 2007, San Rafael will be the epicenter of Yoga Therapy, as it hosts “Yoga for Health” – the 2nd Annual International Yoga Therapy Conference. • Unlike any other yoga gathering in the United States, IYTC will feature yoga masters, instructors and researchers in an event designed to make the therapeutic applications of yoga accessible to yoga practitioners, health professionals, therapists and the general public alike. • The event also fills a vital role in public health and wellness education, bridging the gap between yoga and the medical establishment, a much needed connection. • The conference will allow Registered Yoga Therapists and other instructors who are certified by the Yoga Alliance to qualify for continuing education credits. • Make sure you investigate the outstanding schedule of presentations for the conference before you register: http://yogatherapyconference.com/classes__workshops.html • Make sure you register before the Special Early Registration price ends – only a few more days! The 2007 promotional video, which contains an informative look at Yoga Therapy, interviews with yoga masters, and testimonials is available to view online at the following link:

To be held at the prestigious Peacock Gap Country Club, the conference an interesting array of classes, workshops and lectures. Included in the list of presenters will be keynote speaker Rama Jyoti Vernon, co-founder of Yoga Journal and founder and president of the International Yoga College, presenting on “The Role of Yoga Therapy on Global Healing”; and pioneering English researcher Robin Monro, founder of the Yoga Biomedical Trust, presenting on “Yoga, Science and Spirituality”. The conference will also feature some of the most prominent members of the global yoga community: Larry Payne, PhD, co-author of “Yoga for Dummies” and “Yoga Rx”, and founding President of the International Association of Yoga Therapists; Richard Miller, PhD, co-founder of the International Association of Yoga Therapists and author of “Yoga Nidra”; Dr. Marc Halpern, founder of the California College of Ayurveda; Neil Pearson, Canadian expert on pain relief; and B.V. Subrahmanyam, most prominent Indian exponent of Manoyoga. Antonio Sausys, director of the Conference and leading expert in the field of yoga for grief, believes 2007 will be a breakout year for the IYTC. “The integration of mind and body is very important for the healing process, and the conference will present some of the key areas where they come together in the practice of yoga as therapy. We are very fortunate to have presenting at “Yoga for Health” an outstanding caliber of masters and presenters. Following the fantastic momentum we have from last year’s event in Marin, this year’s conference will excel both in content and in the exposure of this valuable knowledge to the public.” As in its inaugural year, the 2007 International Yoga Therapy conference will emphasize the synchronicity of ancient yoga therapy with revolutionary modern-day science, in a format that can benefit all those who attend. About The International Yoga Therapy Conference: The conference was founded in 2004 by Antonio Sausys in San Anselmo, California, dedicated to addressing the mind-body-spirit connection through yoga therapy. IYTC is also involved in the production a variety of yoga and yoga therapy seminars and events across the United States, as involving dance, music, artistic and community education events. 2007 IYTC sponsored and supported by: 7Th Heaven Yoga Studio, Bay Club Marin, Rajala Rehab Products, Whole Foods Market, Yogi Times, Yoga Finder, International Yoga College, International Association of Yoga Therapists, International Yoga Federation, California College of Ayurveda, Yoga Mates, The World Sound Healing Conference, Earthgrid Networks, “The Organic Psychology Hour” Radio Show, and Health Trends Radio.
