Guest guest
Divine souls happy diwali to all and may god helps all of us to grow on the path of spiritual evolution. here is some information regarding five days of celebration of diwali. Day-1, Dhanateras Celebration Today , because of the busy life, we are ignoring our health. While there is greater pleasurae than being healthy. If you have healthy body and mind, you can fulfill all of four-dharmas. Within the Grihastha Dharma there are four noble pursuits of life, known as purushÄrthas. The four purushÄrthas are: 1. kÄma (desire for sensual pleasure) 2. artha (acquisition of worldly possessions or money) 3. dharma (observance of religious duties) moksha (liberation achieved through God-realization) If you are unhealthy then all these worldly pleasures are meaningless. In this situation memorizing Dhanvantari is significant. According to Puranas once all human beings and animals suffered with physical and mental diseases (Vyadhi). They could not get a way to eradicate diseases. On other hand Gods and Demons kept fighting to win and rule on each other. All the semi-gods went to Lord Vishnu along with creator lord Brahma to solve this problem. Lord Visnnu asked them Samandara-manthan (sea churning). By this churning of ocean they got fourteen precious jewels (ratna). These are Kalkuta (poison), Kamadhenu (cow), uchchai- srava-asva (seven headed horse), aravata-gaja (white elephant), Kaustuma Mani (precious jem), kalpa-vriksha (all fulfilling tree), apsaras (beautiful dancers), Lakshmi (goddess of wealth), chandrama (moon), dhanus (bow), shankha, Dhanvantari, amrita-kalasa and varuni-sura. Lord Vishnu ordered Dhanvantar to born as son of Dhanva the king of Kashi on the earth establish and spread Ayurveda all around to help the living being on earth. He was borne on teras of mash kartika (thirteenth day of month kartika). He was named Dhanavantari. From this day, we are celebrating Dhana-terasa, two days before Diwali. His disciple, Sushruta was master of all eight limbs of therapy. Under guidance of his Guru he wrote “sushruta-samhitaâ€. How to Celebrate? · Clean your house and put oil lamps on all entries in your house. · Pray to Dhanavantari to remain healthy for whole family in all directions. Remove all unusual and waste things and place new clean things. Day-2, Rupa-chaudas Day, next to dhanaterasa is celebrated as rupa-chaudas. ‘rupa’ is sanskrita term for beauty annd ‘chaudas’ means fourteenth. It is also known as small-diwali. This is the day to conserve and refine your beauty. Before sunrise in Brahma-muharta, make the herbal paste and put on your body. Remove it and take bath. Then pray to lord of death (Yamaraja) and spread the pure water in whole house. Put oil lamps in all rooms, and temple. Pray for well being of all living being and be aware of your diet and life-style. Day-3, Diwali- Salutation to Lakshmi Lakshmi, wealth is very important in this world to fulfill your daily needs. So to earn money and wealth all of us pray to Goddess Lakshmi. Goddess Lakshmi is depicted as wife of Vishnu sitting on Lotus. To worship Lakshmi this dark-night of Amavasya is best. Diwali is awakening of the Gods as before this four months are assumed as sleeping time of Gods. It’s the darkest night and Goddess Lakshi is worshipped to enlighten our lives. Lord Ganesh, Mahakali and Mahasaraswati puja is essential before Lakshmi Puja. Day-4, Govardhana-puja Day next to Diwali is celebrated as worshipping mountain Govardhana. Its part of Krishna-lila. In Gokula in Dwapar-Yuga, all has to worship lord Indra. Lord krishna motivated them to worship Govardhana mountain and Cow. Now Indra became angry resulted in heavy-rainfall for seven days. Lord krishna kept holding this mountain on one finger to save the life. At the end Indra realized the truth and worshipped lord Krishna. From that day Cow and mountains made of cow-drum are worshipped. This is symbol of evolving from the ego and evil nature. We should have patience, love, and care for all living and non-living beings on earth. Day-5, Bhai-Duja Next to Govardhana Puja is celebration of Bhai-Duja. This is also known as Yama-dvitiya.
