Are we going to face the truth? The new year started on very shocking incident of 2 girls being molested by group of more than 70 people in a city proud to be safe for its women. But with a bit of more focus on Mumbai incidence we forget the similar incidence happened at Kochi, Bangalore, Pune, Delhi and many more cities probably not reported at all. The entire sensible population of the nation has condemned the incident. And all our forward looking news channels had long discussions on various aspects of incidence. But in the process entire discussion slowly got focused on what Mumbai Police Chief said and whether he was right or being non sensible. It may look rude and non sensible by Police Chief to say “He cannot provide cover to everyone and what he and his force did was to the extent they can”. But are we ready to look at these incidences as major challenge for our family and

society? We must understand these were not mere one or two incidences happened due to lack of adequate protection. Almost all major cities have witnessed these kind incidences in more numbers than last year. Now do we still believe that this is just a case of law and order failure? Or are we ready to look at larger problem we are facing of culture and family values. How can the group of 70 people behave in such a wild manner? Does our society have detoriated to that extent? Or is it a question of arousing the wrong aspirations? We all have experienced in the run up to New Year Celebration, every small and big media or who so ever in entertainment and hospitality sector including Print, electronic media and

our new found informers like internet and FM radios have been going all out to arouse the spirit. One news items grab my attention in the context of this incidence. All the print and E-media gave major space to which actress is dancing at which place on new years night and how much she is being paid for. Have we ever tried to asses the impact of creating such kind of hype to New Year’s celebration in the format we celebrate today? We have created a situation where you are looked upon by suspicion if you are not attending any New Year Celebration. No restaurant/ Bar/ Pub or Hotel allows you to enter if you are going with same sexes. Only we are to be blamed as a society if the aspiration has been aroused to

a level of no compromise; if you are not on this side then you are not worth to be? So the real question we need to ask to ourselves what kind of society we aspire to be. What kind of values governs our families? Are we becoming to in tolerant that if I don’t have something then I should snatch it from someone who has? Or it’s a question of arousing wrong aspirations. The irony of the situation is; this all is happening in metros and urban

centers of the country, where we believe that so called educated and civilized population lives. Time has come for all of us to look at root cause of the problem and stop reacting superficially. Even double number of police force and enforcement of law will hardly stop these kinds of incidences, if we do not seriously look at values that govern our families and our society. Otherwise we may all be discussing another such incidences on 2nd January 2009; and that time may be in multiple numbers. Dear all,

The message is an eyeopener to all the members

of this universe. Are we really cultured? Does our

civilisation endorse such incidents. Where has our

Dharma gone ? What would be the reaction of world

people on India... the land of rich culture and

heritage.

After all such incidents, usually the press also

takes the backseat, unable to voice its opinion ..for

the fear of being reprimanded by the mighty and

powerful.

Let us pray at the altar of The Almighty so as to

enable us conduct ourselves as law abiding and

dutiful, honest and harmless citizens, in the years to

follow.

Regards

Dear raghvan facing truth is not an individual choice!! one has to face it whether he/she wants or not..th eillusion for the human mind is it always sees the emotional aspects of the happenings.the rational mind is always in slept condition.so why one should not try to awake the slept part of mind first? regardsRaghavan Srinivasan <drvars_2000 wrote: Dear all,The message is an eyeopener to all the membersof this universe.
