Guest guest
DARSHAN OF THE LORD AND LADY Ever longing for a glimpse of the Great Lord Stretching, striving, sitting still for years in meditation Chanting billions of sacred names On Malas worn smooth with yearning fingers. Fasting, positioning the limbs just so, according to the old books. Retaining the breath, till the red blood shrouds the eyes What did I see? Darkness, only more darkness Yesterday, I gave it all up. Shut the doors On the brow of mind, put up the "Vacancy" sign. Seeking relief from frustration, I strolled through the inner garden walkway. It was then He beckoned me. Perhaps feeling pity, He called, in a childish laughing voice, "Look! Look, Patti! Here we are!" And indeed, there He stood, the two of them. The Lord and His Lady incarnate in small flesh. Dhivya Priya, age 4, the Lady, scarcely three feet high. With delicate hands in Devi's Mudras, Kapita and Dhola Hastha. Parvathi, indeed! Lord Shiva Himself stood next to her, Disguised as Her little brother, Half her size, and stark naked, As befitting Bhiksheshwara, holding a big, thin stick. He squealed in glee! "Look Patti!" "I Is Shiva!"
