Warming is it really happening? Yes many of the scientists believe that our planet is heating up and it is the result of our activities and not just a natural occurrence. The effects of global warming can be colossal causing drought in drought prone areas, storms will be more frequent, polar ice caps will melt and will lead to flooding in many costal areas. The melting of ice in Greenland is already set in place. If this continues the sea levels in areas like Florida, Netherlands, Beijing, and Calcutta will never be the same. Imagine the impact of storms that will flood these areas displacing many people from their homes. It is absolutely devastating. Today 2 billion people live on less than 2 dollars a day. A billion are struggling just to remain alive. And if warming continues by the end of year 2050 over 45% of the global population will not be able to meet the daily requirements. Higher temperature will cause more diseases and deaths from global warming will double in just 25 years to 300,000 people a year. More than 1,000,000 species will be extinct. At least 279 species of plants and animals are already responding and are moving towards poles. Each one of us is contributor to global warming but each one of us can make choices to change that. No doubt we can fight global warming. We can solve the problem. The solutions are in our hands we just need the determination to act on them. Even a small change in our day to day activities can help our environment. We need to change the way we live. You can fight climate change IF YOU CAN: 1. Buy energy efficient appliances and light bulbs. Replacing one regular light bulb with a compact fluorescent light bulb will save 150 pounds of Carbon dioxide a year. 2. Recycle More. You can save 2,400 pounds of carbon dioxide by just recycling half of your household waste. 3. If you can buy a hybrid car. 4. When you can walk or ride a bicycle. You’ll save 1 pound of

carbon dioxide for every mile you don’t drive. 5. Plant trees. A single tree will absorb one ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime. 6. Turn off electronic devices. Simply turning off your television, DVD player, computer when you are not using them will save thousands of pounds of carbon dioxide a year. 7. Switch to renewable sources of energy. 8. Vote for leaders who pledge to solve the climate crisis. 9. Speak up among your friends and your community. 10. Tell your parents not to ruin the world you live in. 11. If you are a parent join with your children to save the world

they will live in. 12. If you believe in prayer, pray that people will find the strength to change. 13. Learn as much as about climate crisis. Then put your knowledge into action. Implementing even 4-5 of the above mentioned will help us fight the real cause. Some economists worry that this will hurt our economy. However they

forget to see that what we will do of the economy if we don’t have the right environment to live in and if we do the right thing that will make us happier and will generate more wealth for us. I know what you are thinking.….Why only I should do this? Why we need to do anything why not let just US cut down emissions? Why should we worry just let goverment take care of it? The situation here is different from what we have seen in the past, we are talking about our future, the future for our children and the impact of the climate crisis is global, this problem requires a global effort from all of us. It is very easy to neglect things and just don’t care but it takes lot of courage and determination to fight for what you want to have. Time has demanded again our effort to fight for a secured future, to fight for the future we

want our kids to live in. The future holds many things, but what we know for sure is that it is our actions that will have a profound effect on our planet. We need to change the present to preserve our future.

Take care of our earth :-)

Happy life :-)
