24th Pondy State Level Yoga Sport Championship 2009

Pondicherry Yogasana Association is the official body for Yoga Sports

in Pondicherry. It is recognized by the International Yoga Federation

(South America) as well as the Asian Union of Yoga (New Delhi) and

affiliated to the Indian Yoga Federation (Kolkata). Founded by

Yogamaharishi Dr Swami Gitananda Giri Guru Maharaj in 1975, the PYA has

been active in conducting Yoga Sport events such Pondicherry State

Level Yoga Sport Championships, TEN Swami Gitananda Best Youth and

Child Award Competitions.

Yoga Sport is the best activity for youth of our beloved country as it

entails virtually no infrastructure nor equipment that is required in

other sports etc. It acts as a catalyst in stimulating the youth to

take up a holistic practice of Yoga that has been scientifically proved

to be of great physical, mental and emotional benefit for the

individual. Yoga is a preventive science and by our youth taking up its

practice we can save great man power and money power of our nation.

We are planning to conduct the 24th Pondy State Level Yoga Sport

Championship Saturday and Sunday 14th and 15th November 2009 at the

Subulaksmi Mahal, Pondicherry-3.

We request all to extend their full support to this event that is being

conducted on a non-profit basis by the Pondicherry Yogasana Association.

Going to be a grand success as every year Sir. Promise to be there and do the best. Not just on Nov 14th and 15th- even from before to get the things organised - to the best of the ability. Must thankU for giving this opportunity - cos me sure its going to be a great experience.
