Maha Shiva Raatri 2010http://vimeo.com/10667003About this video:"Hello everybody !!!Here are some glimpses of the Maha Shiva Raatri celebrations of 2010 at Sri Kambliswami Madam, in Pondicherry.Maha Shiva Raatri is the most important festival for Lord Shiva, one of the three major Gods of the Hindus with Brahma and Vishnu. He is also the Supreme Lord and Teacher of all the Yogis.Maha Shiva Raatri is considered a very auspicious and powerful day for spiritual practice. Many stories are told to illustrate the specialness of this day.One of them tells of a hunter hunting in the jungle without success. At nightfall, a tiger started chasing him. So he started running for his life and eventually climbed a Bilva tree to be safe. The tiger - a very patient tiger - settled under the tree and waited for the

hunter to come down from the tree again. The hunter, sitting on a branch of the tree with the tiger below, was quite tense and couldn't sleep. So he started plucking leaves of the tree and let them fall on the earth. It so happened, that below the tree there was a Shiva Lingam, a representation of Shiva. The whole night went on like this. Shiva was very pleased by the fasting and the offering thus made to him by the tiger and by the hunter - even though unconsciously ... So he granted them Moksha, deliverance on the spot.Plenty of good inspirations and of good and auspicious energies to all of you !!!Christoph(4/4/2010)"
