Dear All,This is to state that I, Dr. Gopal

Ji herinafter have no association whatsoever with the International Yoga

Federation of which I have been a member since 1996.

When the organization was formed

it strived to adhere to the ethics practiced in Yoga. Even more important was

the fact that the movement was truly global in nature with an aim of generating

peace, harmony and a better understanding of people belonging to different

cultures. But today the Federation and its motivational drive has entirely

changed from acting as a beacon for change to a financial enterprise. An

example of this is the fact that you can become a certified Yoga teacher for a

fee of 150$!

Even more disturbing is the fact

that the names of great seers from various religions are being associated with

this scam without even knowing it. In my view this is an act of sacrilege, and

the blatant manner in which it is being conducted is highly objectionable. What

hurts even more is the fact that virtually all these holy men have agreed to

lend their hallowed names to the federation.

To begin with the IYF is operating and updating dummy

websites using various URL’S. One such spurious site that has been registered

in my name without even informing me and seeking my permission is, http://www.yogaofindia.org/. You can find

the details of registration of the website here http://www.whois.net/whois/yogaofindia.org,

which clearly shows that though this website has been registered in the name of

Dr. Gopal Ji , the registration location is Buenos Aires

and whether by coincidence or design, the registration company of IYF website

and this website is the same.

The so called IYF boasts of a single room centered at Buenos Aires. The irony is that the executive board of the IYF is

all from the same location and yet they lay claims to be the leader of the

World Yoga Community. It is unimaginable to comprehend how an entire global

body can be run from a single room in a single city? To add insult to injury, different

websites have been registered by different names but run by same people from

the same place.

Furthermore, the IYF have neither organized any official meeting (though it has

been fraudulently shown on papers), nor have they given any details of any

accounts (Receipt and Expenditure), since 1990 from when Dr. Fernando

Estevez-Griego became its President. Since then it is has been reduced to but a

one man show that is hood

winking the world in the name of this sacred science.

In conclusion, during the past few years rhe IYF have created deliberate rifts

between all associated Yoga Organizations, eg., Europe

Yoga Alliance, Indian Yoga Federation, Yoga Federation of India, Yoga Confederation of India, Latin America Yoga

Federation, Asian Union of Yoga, American Yoga Federation and so on. In fact, whosoever

tried to raise their voice for the envisaged noble cause of a united effort

that could bind all the peoples into a single global community were systematically

eliminated from the IYF in a ruthless and dictatorial fashion. Today

regrettably the IYF is just working for income generation which is completely against

the spirit of Yoga, The IYF is now just a money making enterprise, which has

long forgotten the ideals and goals it was initially set up for. If a Yogi

Masters Certificate can be had from the IYF for ridiculously small amounts even

if for instance you are physically disabled and cannot perform to their full

potential is truly a sad state of affairs indeed!

It for all of the abovementioned

reasons, I would humbly like to submit

that I belong to a generation of Yogi’s and what I see happening is at the same

time saddening and infuriating as there is the hardcore proof I have uncovered. This money making approach

being adopted by the Federation are completely contrary to the ethics and

practice I learnt from my father, a yogi of repute and I demand that my name be

removed in totality from this federation. If this is not done within a

fortnight, I will have no alternative but to move against the Federation

legally.

These are the numerous reasons

that are seriously compelling me to take this step and I would like to expose

these facts to the people at large.

Yours truly

Shri. Gopal Ji
