Guest guest
Your teacher should understand that we all need to progress at our own pace, and that the practice is the important thing, not being able to do all poses perfect. Competition for me is a no-no, I won't even compete with myself as it might cause me to not listen to what my body is telling me. Strength should be built slowly, and in ones own time. After about 2 years of practice I have only recently been able to consistently join hands in Marichyasna A. - Pathetic, I know, but I had a bit of a belly, and lots of muscle-tissue in legs and arms to contend with. Jump backs are still difficult for me but I notice that I'm making progress. It seems as if my shoulders and arms are slowly beginning to strectch themselves longer. I definitely also think that someone weighing 55 kgs will better be able to lift themselves using the arms only, than someone weighing 85 kgs, like I do.
