Namaste Mani,

I also have been practicing for about the same amount of time and find that I

have gravitated towards practicing these limbs of ashtanga yoga. Specifically, I

started practicing some dharana excercises about 6 months ago to aid

concentration and sense withdrawal (pratyahara) and to prepare my mind/self for

dhyana. I find that making a separate time in my day to practice these aspects

separately has it's own benefits and rewards and adds a different dimension to

the practice overall, like opening another door.

I'm interested to know how you approach these limbs and if you have only

recently come to practice them separately to your asana practice or have been

practicing them for some time already? Did you learn from an ashtanga yoga

teacher or from another teacher? Is there a specific technique that you use? I

would really be very interested to know if you would be willing to share.

Thanks

Helen
