At Ashtanga Yoga Shala we are interested in presenting the Ashtanga

Vinyasa Yoga practice in its fullest context as a spiritual practice,

and cultivating a teaching method consistent with that of Sri K

Pattabhi Jois. To this end, we are very excited to be offering a 200

hour Intensive Training*, which meets the Yoga Alliance 200 hour

teaching standards, and may be applied to registration as an RYT 200.

This training is unique in that it is specific to Ashtanga Yoga, and

in support of the traditional teaching method. There is a strong

emphasis on personal practice as the inner guide for teachers.

This 200 hour Intensive* will offer a comprehensive overview of

Ashtanga Yoga, in a small, intimate group - personally guided by AYS

directors. All contact hours are with the primary teachers with

extensive experience. We have carefully assembled a faculty comprised

of dedicated practitioners and teachers of Ashtanga Yoga. Each one has

spent one to two years studying directly with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in

Mysore, India, and returns regularly to continue that study. In

addition, each one has studied his/or her area of specialty for 10 or

more years with senior teachers in that field.

The training will cover the following areas:
